@@TysonHugie Honda Accord and Subaru Legacy of those year 1990-1993 were/are of "Japanese ingenuity Engineering and Manufacturing"... 💘 💘 I will share you my Happy and Sad Stories of our Subaru Legacy Model L ... 1992. It has only 93k miles or 148,000 km on the Odometer; inside the Chamber it is like this Honda Accord in term of little scratches and the Cushion/Bench Seat in the back still look like new. Underneath the Hood, the Cleanliness like this Honda 1993 SE. 3 Features stood out in this Legacy was: 1/ that the Original Timing-Belt was changed only in 2019 at 140k km; and the Subaru Tech Lady who provided Services/ Sold Parts for us/me was born 1993; so at the time when we bought the Timing-Belt and Thermostat = *she said OMG the Timing-Belt is older than me* . 😂😂 2/ The Legacy designed so that you never left the Head-lights or Lights on = as when you took out the Key from the Ignition Slot; all light shut off by itself. 3/ AWD or Ready AWD Symmetrical that Honda Accord or Toyoda Camry those years did not have = Winter Driving where I live and drove up north to Alaska Highway... I still have the Original Winter Tires and Rims Made by Subaru Rims and Bridgestone Tires since 1994! And bought some Parts like Column Steering/Control (assembly that including Levels of Signal Lights and Windshield Wiper as well the Cruise Control ─ Bought Brand New as Spare Parts.) And Black Bra on the Fender is brand new, never put on the Car; We/I also bought a spare of Maroon Mirror Painted instead of Black and intended to have the Car repainted by my friend Mechanics Shop; and many Brand New Parts for the Model 1992 since the Dealer that I knew they went to Bankruptcy in 1996; so we/I got so many spare Brand New Parts for Restorations. The Worst New! Sad is the Car was stolen in late May 2023; and the Police could not do anything about the case! So mad! We only spent $2K last in 2019 on changing Original Timing-Belt, Thermostat and Water Pump = since it cost extra only $500, so, we had they done so everything around the Timing-Belt would be like new and would help keep the Engine in best shape. The car was trouble Free for us since 1992 from Japan to the day we lost the Car; except that we had to replace the Alternator because here, winter like Minus 40°F/C during Last Week of Jan and 1st week of February. It is very hard on the Electrical Wires. *We/I saw a a Subaru Legacy Model Lsi. 1992 was auctioned in Australia for 22k AUD$* - which had only 45 thousand original Miles on the Odometer. My plan of converting our Subaru Legacy 1992 Model was not materialized... That is all; and Cheers to those Classics Made in Japan JH/ JF and JT serial Number.

My Grandma and Grandad bought this exact model when it was brand new. Paid cash for it so they owned it outright the day it left the lot. Had all the options added to it. Spoiler, fog lights, alarm system, cd changer. I absolutely fell in love with it when I was only 3 or 4 years old. My dad was a Honda mechanic so they got a few deals on the options too. 😊On this video hearing that good ole F22A6 engine wind up was like music to my ears.

That video is a dopamine hit for me and I go back and watch it every chance I get, so for you to give us an update 5 years later is a reward for us who fell in love with this vehicle. What do you use to clean those engine bays to such sparkling cleanliness and not damage the electronics? 😳
@DrivingHy
@DrivingHy Жыл бұрын
Depends on how dirty the engine is. Avoid garden hoses and high pressure washers. Try a product like "Oil Eater" to dissolve and wipe away grease. Use old rags that u can toss out to wipe it down Next use a large 32 oz spray bottle with water and add about 10 oz alcohol. Liberally spray down the engine to remove the degreaser. It may take several bottles of water to do this. After you wipe it down, use a preservative spray that restores flexibility to the rubber and plastic parts. Avoid getting it on the belts. I like 303 Aerospace protection for this. Wipe it down with old microfiber rags that u won't use again. Once you do all this maintaining it is much easier. Good luck, hope this helps...

Im interested to know more how the car has been used! Is it a primary car? Not only is this a wonderful example of how beautifully preserved this 4th gen accord is, but also the fact it has over 130K means the owner actually drives it instead of sticking in a meat locker with 20K miles. I wish we all could take care of cars like this, to preserve them for decades while also using them even if it's "just an Accord". Also this video helped me figure out my Vigor was built in September of 1993 so that's cool. I now know when to celebrate my car's 30th birthday, thanks Hugie.

Hard to describe how new this looks! Even harder to imagine it's 30 years old. Still looks new. Even the exhaust manifold cover is still nice and black after 30 years and 132,000 miles! Interesting this car was bought on my 17th birthday! My baby my 93 Integra turned 30 this February has 2/93 date. Just turned 120k miles. I'm coming up on year 4 since I bought it in July 2019 with 107k miles. Here's to many more enjoyable miles! Thanks for showing us Hy's amazing Accord!

always adored that generation. The rare fog lights and that giant LED spoiler third brake light is PERFECTION!

What I like about the '93 compared to the new Accords. - Vinyl headliner - Rear door courtesy lights - The user-friendly layout of the dash controls - Less electronics (less stuff to prematurely brake) - Replaceable headunit for aftermarket I had both 93 and 2018. I still miss my 1993 more than my 2018.

Same here, I fell in love with the Montana Green 93 Accord Coupe SE but never got the chance to own one, my second car after my Mazda Mx6 GT was a 95 Honda Accord Ex I named Goldie back in the early 2000s. She had 93k miles on the Odometer when I purchased her for $1600 and she was spunky lol I love Hondas and Acuras to this day, now I daily drive an 05 Acura TSX with 250k miles and she's a beautiful car.

Had a green one, loved that car, but in Ohio those rear fenders rust out in no time. That Bose system still holds it's own against current systems too.

Jealous. No chance at this ever happening in the salty street winters of New England. This was my first car and I loved it, but it succumbed to the elements at about 20 years old.

Jealous of those foglights, my silver 91 SE did not have that addition. But it DID have a factory leather wrapped steering wheel, which apparently Honda couldn't figure out how to do when they added an airbag.....

This car is like a rolling museum piece. Very cool - takes me back to the 1991 Honda Accord DX that my parents owned - I learned how to drive on that car. Great to hear that F22 engine running at speed. Thanks for posting this!!

I remember seeing these new at Saccucci Honda in RI in Spring ‘93. My Dad was taking delivery of his ‘93 Accord LX 5-spd in Seattle Silver on dark red cloth and the GM was driving a gold SE just like this. The upgraded rims, leather, & Bose stood out & STILL do. Thanks for taking me back!
