Nice vid, I just didn’t quite understand the readings you were getting

Alastair have you use an Ohm meter? I am sure you have...When you get a resistance reading it means there is a connection from one end to the other. The ohm meter puts out about 3 to 5 volts (Diode output 5 to 7 volts) and when you connect it to something such as a wire end to end the meter displays an Ohm reading. If the meter reads OL or OUCH depending on the meter the circuit is open not making a connection. When I was testing a good MG (motor generator) you should have noticed that the meter read 550 M Ohms and 500 volts in the lower corner of the display. When I switched to the MG with the Isolation Fault the meter has a low resistance reading and the voltage dropped that indicates that the MG or wires have a short touching ground. The 1587 Fluke MegOhm meter can put out 550 M Ohms on the 500 volt scale...a bit of a difference than the 3 to 5 volts of a regular Ohm meter. Hope this quick explanation helps.
