Does it have a comb and wattles? It looks like a pure chicken just sounds a bit odd? What were the parents supposed to be?

David Maric It sounds just like a guinea. HAS to be at least part guinea.

Guinea fowl x chicken hybrids are sterile. You're saying that it is half chicken but exhibits virtually no visual characteristics? Unlikely. It may have swallowed a piece of glass

Jake Holland head shape is different from a pure chicken and feathers are somewhere between the consistency of a chicken and guinea. I HIGHLY doubt a chicken would swallow glass, survive, and then sound like a guinea... It's not just the sound but the call pattern. Most poultry hybrids are not sterile.

If they're hybrids within a species ie breeds or subspecies, then you're correct, they are mostly fertile; but what you say is misleading at best. Domestic chickens and common pheasants produce sterile offspring, and those two species are fairly related. Guinea fowl are not even in the same family as chickens - I HIGHLY doubt that the offspring would ever be fertile. There are precisely zero visual features that are unique to Guinea fowl in the video. It has normal juvenile domestic chicken features but the voice is croaky. It would be an exceptional bird if it was a hybrid. If it is a hybrid, it would be 50% guinea fowl and I'm just not seeing it from this video

Further, chickens swallow hard, jagged, sharp objects all the time as part of their normal biology. It could easily have been the case here

@@quailjailss we bought a guinea birds a few months ago and the guinehens make this annoying sound in contrast with the chicken hen.
@quailjailss2 жыл бұрын
@@janinebelleestrada7096 had my poultry my whole life. Guineas don’t make this sound. Hens make a 2 syllable noise. Or a chittering noise. Or their “danger call” that can be short chirps or the classic call people are used to. This is a young chicken noise.
