Just add a second controller, or even a 3rd. A cheap 30 amp Bouge RV branded one in PWM amzn.to/3WviNHe it is what I am adding to this if I add the other battery. They do all battery types, are safe and cheap. You do NOT need MPPT on it, that one is 95% as effective. Plus unlike a "pre-built" power station, my design can add as much solar and battery as your willing to add. You can add 2 more of them to the build I have without a problem or additional switches or designing. My option has - No special blue tooth, no special firmware, no China spying software, no wifi, and is all of serviceable parts.

Then $999.00 for one 100AH was a rip off, They had a 1 in 32 fail rate. People had to be warned to chill out on the hype. But now they are under $200 and the BMS is actually feasible for using with Lead Acid like I am doing. I refused to buy them as a Fad, and waiting gave me all mine for 1/3 of the price everyone who was "hip and cool" paid for them.

I have 3 carts like yours, mine has Catl raw prismatic cells wired together with a JK BMS on each, every cart is 14.4 KW of battery power at 48 volts, They are wired to the EG4 6000 XP all in one inverter/solar charge controller..Both 240 and 120, it runs my Cabin house..I use a 48 volt fork truck light bulb to charge my capacitors in the inverter, when the light bulb dims and shuts off, the capacitors are charged..Yours is a very cool system, I thought about building a 12 volt system that is very similar..

John, could you better describe the charge circuit for the caps? Is it just 3 led lights or something else? Well done.
@JOHNDANIEL16 ай бұрын
It is just 3 basic incandescent lamps, 1 watt each in parallel. But a neat trick I figured to build in to boot up without common wear on the inverters caps that cause early fails.
@robertrice44416 ай бұрын
In your opinion, how does the SWI inverters you have been very positive about (120 VAC, reliability, build quality, etc,) compare to the Erayak 3Kw inverter?
@JOHNDANIEL16 ай бұрын
Both use the same sourcing and one is built in the former factory of SWI Power. So they are very equal in build and quality. The SWI Power has the bullet proof history of over 18 years, Erayak is in business only 6.

If you have a inkling of credit, Kiera's is under 500 due to her age, so you can use many of those buy now pay monthly programs like Affirm or Klarna. Kiera does this and gets many things. There is no interest, just a small $3 to 5 fee on the total price. Not a jacked up price either. So when you can grab something with a 20 to 30% off sale, your actually far ahead of your game. Her payments on over $1900 of stuff is under $70 a month. No interest.

Very good idea BUT (always a but). Unless the cart is going to stay on concrete, those wheels are going straight to china. Guess they can ship them back to you with your next order. Suggest adding axles under cart and putting on wide air up lawn tractor tires. Mount them on the outside of the cart and make it super stable. Should be able to "lift and aim" cart to steer it and easier to push or pull.

She dragged it all over the property over the weekend to run her 14" Remington electric chain saw. It did OK on grass, ok in gravel, but tended to stick in bumpy spots. 4" poly casters is not perfect. They are 105mm x 25mm which is 4.12" x 1". Not ideal, but works. We have a set of 5.5" casters ( their box says 140mm x 40mm x 750 lb ) that will likely go on it. They are much bigger and 5/8" wider on the bonded rubber tread with real bearings in cast iron wheels. They used to sell them at Northern Tool for their 2 ton engine lifts and I have had them 10 years still new and unused. Going from 4" to 5.5" with them mounted another 1.5 inch wider on the carts bottom base spacing and 1" total longer front to back spaced will make sure its a winner. I'm mounting them on 1/8" x 2" angle that will be a welded box frame bolted under the cart since we will be adding that other 200AH battery to it. Other wise, it actually never had her struggling. But when I saw when going from the sidewalk to the grass it looked too wobbly.

@@JOHNDANIEL1 what about using garden/greenhouse wagon? Mount batteries, inverter, generator and anything else to bottom of wagon, use the sides to support shelf for anything smaller that can't get in bed. Put a clothes rack style pipe (front to back, height to be determined) to mount control panel, hang cords and mount lights (extention poles?) I am in no way saying that what you guys came up with is wrong or bad ideas. I believe that this project is actually a very good idea. In my situation, it would be too unstable. My wife keeps getting on me about "can't you just leave it alone and use it as it is" on a lot of things. I'm always looking to try to improve/personalize ANYTHING that I get my hands on. I've been told that is what welders and touches are for. No matter what the project, 5 people can come up with 20 ways to do it. My uncle, cousin and I would spend 2-3 nights sitting in the shop just drawing, looking, mocking up and enjoying cold beverages before starting most projects. Thanks for all your info and videos.

Goal is 30+ amps solar, and 3 of the 260 amp batteries. I will just insert the cart without wheels and blot it down. Then space for any gas gen is there. @JOHNDANIEL16 ай бұрын
Vtoman seems for small and general use, they are OK, battery life is so-so and price is cheap. But as a UPS its a NO, and ease of charging not better than other models. The ALLPOWERS is better even though not so gutsy in the inverter ability, the Vtoman are not made for constant use. We used one for running a RV/houseboat and it did great but with such low solar input it almost died by end of day only running a small AC unit. This hybrid we made will run 2 of them all day especially with the other 200ah added this week.
