Hybrid Solar Eclipse | 2023 April 20 | Australia + Asia

On April 20, 2023, there will be a hybrid solar eclipse visible in Australia and Southeastern Asia. It will be total along a narrow path that skims Western Australia, Timor Leste, and Indonesia. In parts of the Indian and Pacific oceans, the eclipse will be annular. For the surrounding area, it will be partial.

Part of Saros Series 129 Solar eclipses tend to occur in cycles. The Saros Cycle, one of the most studied eclipse cycles, occurs every 18 years. Yes definitely if you look at a partial or annular eclipse without proper eye protection! But you can of course get the glasses or look at the eclipse indirectly through a pinhole projection or binocular/telescope projection.
