I parked at the camp site and walked through water to get to get on the land and proceed up to the dam. You’ll need waders to cross and get to that side.

all the big are at the boiling and fast current water not where you fish and also you used the lures. the rooster tail lures are used for small white bass only.

What size reel and rod you use?

The smaller set up was a Star Stellar Lite 7’6 with a 3500 reel. The bigger set up was an 8’ MH with a 5500

You are not afraid to get a ticket for crossing the cables. Good fishing but not for the ticket though. Game warden will bust you for crossing over.

Actually GRDA police spoke to me after. No ticket. Just a warning. I had never been there previously and figured it was like all other dams where the buoy was the indicator for boats not to cross but bank-fisherman could go past it.

That's good you didn't get one. It's pretty pricey. Long time ago, they used to let ppl go over. But ppl started being idiots and not leave when the siren goes off and when the water is rising. Good video content. Fishing on that side is always good if you don't mind the walk. Lol. Sometime March will be prime fishing for hybrids and sandy's.
