The white hybrid Rav4 all the way for me. I prefer the black interior which is the only interior colour for this model in Canada. When the economy fires back up later this year I'm predicting the auto makers will be offering a lot of zero financing deals. Stay safe everyone!

Gas tank issue?
@kimberlykoester87034 жыл бұрын
The Hybrid is a no brainer because of those reasons!
@123456svp4 жыл бұрын
There is an issue with the gas tank on the Hybrid version. You can only fill up the tank up to 65% of his capacity.. so that’s another reason to get the gas only version. But if you can’t decide I would recommend you to get the TRD Off-Road version with this package: TRD Off-Road Technology Package, TRD Off-Road Cold Weather Package and Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation and JBL ;)
@123456svp4 жыл бұрын
Naughtysauce it will happen eventually if you have the hybrid version.. (because they changed the shape of the gas tank for the new model). Toyota continues to investigate an issue that can prevent drivers of its top-selling U.S. hybrid, the 2019-2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, from filling their tank up completely. ... In the meantime, Toyota underscored that the issue doesn't appear to have any impact on the fuel gauge or low-fuel light.

Has Toyota fixed the gas tank issue? Are you able to completely fill the tank now?
@123456svp4 жыл бұрын
Nop technically they will need to change the gas tank completely I think. So they need to built another version and then do the free recall.. so might take a while since they will probably lose money..

I just got the XSE last week and I don’t have that problem, maybe they already fixed it

You'd think any being built in 2020 would have it already fixed. Why continue to put in a tank and sensor that is faulty? I've heard people say it sometimes takes a few months before it starts happening.

The hybrid is suuper fast off the line! So fun to drive, but my guess is resale value overtime will suck Bc people fear the replacement cost of hybrid battery and is more of deterrent and perceived risk. Maybe if you plan on keeping it 3-5yrs and don’t put more than 60k the resale should be decent.

I’ll take the gas. Last rental when I traveled they were out of my choice and I got a Prius. I did not like the driving experience of a hybrid. Not knocking it, just not for me.
@user-tb7rn1il3q4 жыл бұрын
I agree. I bought the gas 19 LE AWD RAV. It’s the best value and gets almost the same mpg. My lifetime mpg is 39 in a combination of driving. I doubt the hybrid will do much better. The hybrid model was 3.5k more out the door even though the sticker prices were close. The gas model has less power but weighs less. I keep cars for a long time and didn’t want to deal with battery degradation and eventual replacement. The gas model has a better all wheel drive system and more ground clearance.
@Pierre.P44 жыл бұрын
Brian Sounds like a good call. With the minor difference in gas mileage making up 3.5K will take a very long time, by the time you do you may need a new battery 😳. Gas Toyota engines don’t seem to ever quit if you take care of them. Enjoy your vehicle!

Calz Cristal It is smooth now that I have almost 30k miles. When it was brand new the shifts were a bit firm. My RAV was built in December 2018. My mother has a RAV 4 built in February 2019 and it was smooth from the start. I did not have the TSB performed since my shifts became smoother with time. I’d test drive both, the hybrid will be smoother regardless. I don’t really mind firm shifts.

Jeff we enjoy your videos. We are learning a lot. We are trying to decide between a 2017 highlander limited or a 2020 rav4 hybrid any recommendations? With the highlander do 19 inch wheels cost more or weight more to replace Thank you
@julianschmidt49054 жыл бұрын
Selvyn Giron You need to decide, if you need the extra space. The V6 in the Highlander consumes a bit more. But I would get the newer model year. If you don't have to a big family, the 1,5to tow power and boot space should be enough. I wanted the Highlander before and scrapped it entirely.

Has the 8 speed transmission issue been fix?
@user-tb7rn1il3q4 жыл бұрын
My early build 19 smoothed out with miles, now at 30k. The newer ones are smoother. The main issue is harsh shifts especially during California rolling stops. The torque converter likes to stay locked. Test drive one before you buy it.
@firmbeliever38474 жыл бұрын
@@user-tb7rn1il3q what do you mean the torque convertor likes to stay lock?
@user-tb7rn1il3q4 жыл бұрын
firm believer For fuel economy the torque converter stays locked at low speeds. There is no slippage so if you jerk the throttle the car may buck a little like a manual.

@@user-tb7rn1il3q sorry for the questions i know nothing about the torque converter. Just heard some 2019 models had transmission issues. Im looking to get a 2020 but was wondering if those issues where fix. But what youre saying that theres no real mechanical issue with the trans or converter?
