More companies are weighing a hybrid work model, deciding to have some employees work from home and others return to the office. Experts are concerned this could lead to remote workers being treated differently. CBS MoneyWatch reporter Megan Cerullo joins CBSN's Lana Zak to discuss these issues, along with her most recent report, which you can read here: cbsn.ws/3b8JaKL

Giving how in today's world there is so much division why would anyone want to be around others? Working online was the best thing to ever happen.

This entire conversation is ridiculous. People can and should act like adults and mind their own F'n business as why should I care what other co-workers feel about remote workers. Working in the office is and never has been as useful as people think it is. Everyone will have to step their game up. Most meeting are absolutely useless anyway and can be done via an email or not had at all. This type of conversation only puts more information in the hands of the simple. It's very simple; if you want to go into the office then do so and if not stay the f home.

I've been working hybrid for years, and it's fine. It's great. You go into the office for meetings, so no big Zoom meetings, more flexibility for employees and employers still get to interact with employees in person.

Ask for face time with boss? Aother way saying brown nosing? Um ya see that at my work but it usually done by bombastically talking in common areas to showoff and get attention. 😖

The only people who call it brown-nosing are those who are bad at it. Those workers who think they can keep their heads down and grind away at their work and nothing more, will become extinct. You are setting yourselves up to be treated as commodities, like Amazon workers. I can see it now: Nomadland comes for white-collar workers: this year remote for this company, next year for some other company, never getting ahead. Same boring work and lower and lower pay, while the energetic workers who report to the office and bond as important team members get ahead. There are technology start-ups out there already viewing most of their office workers that way. They think automation already does most of the office work and you're just an overly expensive data entry clerk with lots of degrees.

If my employees want to work from home most or all of the time, why shouldn't I replace them with lower paid workers in cheaper costs of living areas for less money or even replace them with people working from their homes in India? And if my competitors start doing that, I will have to as well to stay competitive. Be careful what you wish for. Get your behinds back in the office.

My biggest concern is undisciplined, irresponsible, poorly trained, unsupervised, lazy employees "working" from home, watching tv, playing with their gadgets all day, on company time. Productivity is ALREADY quickly disappearing because of this. What will employers do THEN, when it becomes the RULE, and NOT the EXCEPTION?

@@stellarocquie7957- Were I an ambitious young person just starting my working career, I would want to work where I could go into the office every day and where all the higher-ups also go in every day. And I would suck up to as many of them every day as possible by going out of my way to be helpful, And I would learn all I could get them to teach me, especially what they could teach me about how to sell myself to upper management. And I would also do the same for my coworkers, especially those who go into the office like me. And I would also run away from working for a company that lets its employees work from home as much as they want. Those companies will fail, and having a failed company on my resume when I lose my job because they failed, will taint my appeal to the best employers. "Oh," they'll think, "you're one of those lazy people from that company that failed because it had a remote workforce. And you thought you could do all that is required of you from home. Well, the truth is to get ahead, you need to go out into the wider world and learn the ways of business not just crank away at whatever navel-gazing bean-counting is described in your job description. No wonder."

Just a thought maybe these people shouldn't of been hired to begin with because they don't have much of a work ethic and most likely they would be goofing off in the physical office as well.
