In this interesting episode after a very long drive to the customer's place we start to diagnose this Ioniq and it had the P1B77 Dtc related to the power relay assembly or the HV Junction Block. the problem was a melted connection in the negative main HV Relay. Propper tests were done to determine the issue that aren't in the video to make it short.
Thanks to my good friend Kappil who assist us with amazing equipment.
There is a recall in Hyundai because of this power relay assembly. so it seens to be a common issue. hope you enjoy the video.

By anychance did the relay click but not start the engine,I have one from auction not starting,no fault code related,the high voltage battery is low im not sure if it will start the ice if the main battery low,I do though only get 1 click which sounds to come from front fusebox not rear

There are 4 clicks, negative ON precharge + ON (will prevent inrush current) positive ON precharge OFF (once inverter voltage reached 95% of the battery voltage in a specific time frame, or will set a dtc)

I need some help from you and I’ll appreciate it if you help me out. I have a 2016 Kia optima hybrid and my codes are p1b70, p1b74,p1b77,p1b96 and last is POAOD. It’s a high voltage sensor but I can’t seem to find it. I bought a new power relay assembly and it was not the problem. The car starts fine until the ready light starts to blink then the check hybrid system comes on and also check battery management system. Any idea what’s causing this. Thanks

Seems that minus path is too thin and flowing current overheats it as it is under the cover. Plus path is widther and longer so it gives out the heat much better. Maybe resistor value is also too small and inverter capacitor charging current is too high when powering on.... regards

Same come with sonata hybrid 2028 p1b77 not start battery voltages are good 295... What issue kindly tell if anyone know

the car ( Kia Niro hybrid 2017 ) won't start. Code P1B77 and P0DFC , P1BA7. High voltage comes to the black block but does not come out of it. Why don't power relays work? ? I put another black block from the working car and the car won’t start either.

It’s the high voltage fuse. Change it and it will start. 2017 also has a recall on the Power Relay assembly.

There is a recall. Those stickers should say Panasonic. Tell your customer to go to the dealer and save their money.

HIUNDAY IQONIC 2017 1. how much soc should the hybrid battery should have ( safe parameters/enough juice) 2. do i need to disassemble the entire unit to reach the main +/- for get the reading voltage measurements 3.this exact vehicle you have, HOW YOU SUPPOSED TO SCAN FROM OBD2 PORT WHEN THE CAR IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE 12V CIRCUIT, I CONSTANTLY NEED TO RESET ( PRESS THE RESET 12V BUTTON ) IF I'M IN IGNITION MODE "ON" , CAUSE OTHERWISE THERE'S NOT 12V SUPPLY ! has anyone looked inside the actual contactor/relay to see the condition of the contact? that would tel the story. Once dirty or carboned, resistance does climb and poof!

A very bad material that does not hold the current at all over time so it overheats until begin to melt the housing ☝️🥴🥲
