Quick tip...call ATC while in the elevator that way when you get in you ship....its already open.

My first day on Star citizen took me 3 restarts to get out of my room then i crashed and burned my ship in the hanger like a ping pong ball so i came here for tips, Great advice i`m gonna go back and see if i can actually fly out the hanger now and earn my wings thanks.

When I started playing (v2.5 - v2.6?) I could manually (autoland didn't work consistently) land and launch "any" ship, in first person, first try, like a Boss. That was until some major updates to the flight engine, though I'm not up to the "Boss" level, by not to use third person, I'm doing good. ;-) Remember; the game spawns the ship, centered on the pad so there's no need for extra movements.

It does :) but I think my ship is broken as it wont let me deploy my landing gear when I press N :( probably doing it wrong will try again, thanks for the helpful vid.

Check if your weapons are on or off. The weapons toggle key is P. There is a bug in the current build that prevents the gear from responding if the weapons are not powered on. Hope it helps! o7

How do you keep the ship so steady when taking off? My ship moves all over and it gets worse when I try to correct it. Same problem when landing. The ship gets all squirrelly. It's very frustrating 🙁

If you are you are using mouse and keyboard, I recommend turning off virtual joystick when landing or taking off so you get 1:1 mouse control and it keeps your ship from getting away from you. You will have to set the keybind manually. It is in Options>Keybindings>Flight - Movement>Cycle Mouse Mode (VJoy/Relative) Give that a shot and let me know if it helps you out!

@@tylererwin1072 yes, cuz the gladius is the main ship you use in SQ42. and they use the gladius for the majority of testing the flight mechanics for the PU.

In gravity, especially atmospheric, flight model way to simplistic in this game... Flying these ships should be difficult, espessially the larger ones, and landing should require skills and training. Then hauling goods could be fun beyond the grind to buy a better ship...

New pilots should start in a Gladius! Do NOT start in a Mustang. Start in a Gladius, as instructed in this video.

Would be a great game but it is annoying to have do simple things. Landing should be automatic like in No Man's Sky. Turns of a lot of new players.
