Mine stopped once I accepted what it was. I now just think "don't panic it's fine" and it goes. Ive had it since I was a kid after the sleep walking went and it's been about 5 years now since the last episode. I think recognising what it is, is what helps you cope.

I have narcolepsy, so I get sleep paralysis all the time. My sleep doctor told me to focus on moving my toes, I dont want to say it gets me out of the paralysis but it calms me down and gives me something to focus on.

i take several night time meds that have this side affect and it happens so much that i actually set alarms on my phone starting from 3 am to 6 am every thirty minutes so i can safley come out of it. if not i will sleep walk, i have fallen down stairs, tried cooking and burned food on the stove. so its a pretty serious thing to go through

Focusing on moving my fingers or my toes is what breaks me out of them. I've had one where in my dream I was running and screaming but was completely still in bed.

My OH learned to break out of sleep paralysis. He said he was trying to kick out at a black shape leaning over the bed. The problem is, now every time he dreams he jumps about and kicks at whatever he dreams about. Unfortunately he does this every night and sometimes kicks me. Sleep paralysis is something to do with something called delayed REM phase sleep... or something along those lines. I just talk alot in my sleep. 😂

I had episodes of sleep paralysis when I was in high school, and feel I experienced them from having moved away from my old high school and all of my friends, and boyfriend. They were scary for me. Because I tried yelling and trying to wake myself up.

I've had sleep paralysis for about 30 years now. I started to be able to get out about age 13, I have done the same.Only mine is my legs, I get to jerking them and the collect energy in core and push it out like a sunburst. I can usually get out within minutes of going in.. lot of practice. And just as a general, I have seen and been touched by beings while I was in. Also prone to OBEs. Guess it's just the way cards fell for me, think it has alot to do with fact I am a human EMF detector. Lifetime of shadow people, and beings of all sorts floating about🤘😜
