A lot of KZbinrs these days would probably have 3D printed the complex box. Your machining of the part is much more satisfying to watch.

"Ca Lem, The most handsome machinist"........... He forgot to add how modest he is too. :D Am I right in remembering that Ca Lem once mentioned that he's a self taught machinist? If so I'm blown away with the project I just watched. I WAS trained as an engineer (By a well known aero engine manufacturer), and I'd still be a bit nervous about designing and making even a basic mechanical logic switch unit from scratch. I'd have to be pretty certain that there wasn't an off the shelf option before I'd decide I needed to bite the bullet and plan/machine one myself. To make one that looks like it's been mass produced on a CNC machine shows god like levels of engineering skill. Trained or not, Ca Lem certainly has some impressive talent.

Great to see your success! Hope conditions at home and abroad get better and soon! In the mean time, keep you and your family safe! A lot of us, even in areas thought safe are wearing masks, holding distance, avoiding crowds, washing our hands too often, all that. Be careful and we'll be here when you have more projects! And don't worry about cutting out the parts where your mother language "overwhelms you" - I don't think KZbin's Algorithm is that lingual! There is a price for success- often learning is part of it, but the learning process can seem like a kick in the pants sometimes! But first the learning, then some degree of mastery and finally the larger success! FR

You're a very talented guy when it comes to make things, like this press. Thumbs up for that. BUT I don't like this control system neither the speed of the piston. This press could be a machine for real precision work if: 1. You use a manual proportional valve instead of those electomagnetic on-off valves and just use a separate switch for the hydraulic pump. Then you could control both the speed and the pressure on the piston properly. And it doesn't hurt if the pump is running idle for some time either. (You could of course have a push botton, or an on-off switch, on the control lever to start the pump when you start pressing, but not for controlling the oil flow). 2. The pump should be a lot smaller so the piston would move slower and be easier to maneuver. Simplier is sometimes better.
