A typical firefighting tanker truck holds 5000 gallons which is good for approximately 60 seconds full blast on a house fire. This Rig would require 500,00 gallons or near to operate, additionally the PSI of water appears that it could and probably would cut a house in half, in seconds. So I'm trying with my years of Firefighting to figure out just where this equipment is best suited for. I could see it on a boat for Ship fires or fires near the shore, or offshore drilling platform fires. It appears someone thought of adapting a stationary pump system, a very good one at that, for portable transport, but certainly not rapid deployment, unfortunately.

Things like these were used during forest fire in czech republic this summer. Firefigters used these pumps to to convey water from river to places that were up to 8 kilometers far away. Then there was many supply points for firetrucks on the water line. Also I've read that these things can be used in case of fire storage of fuel/oil.

Remember, pumps are not only useful when fighting fires. It is also useful when fighting floodings. DEMA (danish emergency management agency) acquired a pump like this after we had floodings in Denmark. Being able to pump 25.000 liters pr. minute is a huge benefit when dealing with floodings. You can almost create a "void" in the water with it, like a black hole just sucking in all the water. Of course you would need a place to put all that water.

A typical fire engine carries 500 gal. A tender holds anywhere from 2,500 to 8,000 gal. Almost every fire pump is rated at 1,500 gal/min. A tender (the tanker is an airplane) almost never directly attacks a fire. They supply engines and trucks that do the work. The PSI of a large diameter nozzle is 80-100 psi depending on if it’s a smooth bore or fog nozzle. So, 5,000 gal would actually last about 4-5 min going full tilt on a house fire. The PSI is not the issue, it’s the weight of the water combined with the PSI that can kill or knock down structures. Your assessment of where this would be utilized is spot on. I see this in the petrochemical or shipyard application or any other high hazard, low mobility situation.

@@Mark-em5zm this on a boat is an absolute no no. I could see this working at a port or dock tho. Marine firefighting is much much more dangerous then land firefighting. Water is a very very finite supply when fighting fires on a boat.

Spot on there was a large football club that caught fire in the town I grew up in they deployed the fire fighting truck from the airport they are big units it parked in the middle of a bridge & run its suction hose straight to the river below & yes it put the fire out but in the process knocked down double brick walls like they were cardboard very impressive.

Is this for draining a lake or cooling a volcano? By the time you haul that 40 ton pump where you need it. There will be nothing left to burn.

Does anyone know the target market for this product? It’s a super high volume yet super low mobility fire fighting system that must be placed near an extremely large source of water. Maybe some applications for gold mining or dewatering?

Fuel and Gas tanks fires where you need to cool them for hours. Fuel and Gas depots, Chemical plants, mining operations etc. Definitely it's not a huge market but still worth a penny or two 😆

its cool and all, but 1. its gonna put a hole in whatever you're trying to put out before you even put it out. and 2. its optimal water flow rate requires it to be near massive body of water in order to actually be more effective than a hose really the only place I can see this being at all usefull in is a ship yard. and even then I don't see much point when you are just going to sink whatever you point it at

These things are great for flood control (or cleaning up the damage afterwards, if the water does get over your barriers). Also, industrial fires, many plants are built next to a river or sea.

because it doesn't make sense. what is it used for? municipal water supply? I know it says firefighting but if you have a fire this big I think it's time to just let it burn because it will anyway by the time you set this up. also apparently the things they put in the water are pumps because that wasn't suction hose that they ran to them
