I disagree. it's more like they're pusshing the edge and trying to redefine the genre. after all symphonic metal came from the idea that two radically different things can be compatible. but as of late the genre has become somewhat complacent, relying mostly on the strength of a single vocalist, and otherwise following a set pattern. just look at the way delain, and amaranthe are evolving. they're not abandoning their roots, they're trying to grow, and I for one like the way things are goin

I understand your point. However, I disagree when you said about the band's profit. Not speculating, but, If Hydria opened more shows, like Epica and Nightwish, as they did with Within Temptation, audience would not be a problem. What we had in those shows? Tierra Mystica. WTF. It was boring. But Hydria wasnt when they opened for Within. Do you remember? For who liked the previous albums, this change is quite a big middle finger to Hydria's fan who sympathized with Raquel's soaring vocals.

dude, pay attention on what she's saying. I strongly agree with Gisele's comment. She managed to write exactly what I meant before. Hydria is a great band, but take a look at this video. The production is good, but look at how Raquel is dressing, and according to what I hear in "Reality show" compared to "Eternal" , "Mirror of tears", makes me think that Hydria is not getting mature, but just changing their style. Epica and Within didn't really changed, it matured. It's different. Just Saying.

What the heck? where are your lyrical voice, Raquel? Have you ever compared this song with "sober dreams" (from the 1st album)? Where is the guttural voice? I don't know, but I think Hydria should keep on track with Symphonic, because it's your real identity, not something that won't keep you from getting fans around the world. just saying.

I like Hydria, but I think they lack personality.They're still haven't figure who they are, they seem to follow, the trend in the metal scene, Rachel in particular seems to be a big fan of Simone Simons, I remember years ago, people commenting on how Hydria'a vocalist should stop encarnating Sisi on stage. Now that the "operatic" - or whatever it's called - voice is not "trendy" anymore in metal scene they decided to change, and Rachel found another idol in Elize Ryd.
