Traveler will stay green forever. It's just really that good, but considering I gave hydro traveler a chance a few times... I was able to have fun with it with Raiden, Nahida and Dehya to simulate a colorful shooter simulation (as long as they are not rifthounds) and it was pretty cute... except for the burst because it moves. Plus I'd live to commend you for bringing back gameplay concepts that were previously mentioned a few times to help new players who have taken interest in the game because of the new region. Also, yes. I will call it "pew-pew" gun from now on.

And suprisingly, Zhongli is getting a rerun in second phase. After I saw Neuvillette's kit, it made me question why they didn't do something similar to Hydro MC's skill. It's obvious that Hydro MC's kit wasn't planned properly. All focus must've been placed on the Fontaine characters. And here I thought they finally know how to make a proper Traveler kit after Dendro.

@@allentayoto7387 Not exactly. Hydro Traveler provides himself a shield at C4. It's a constellation-locked necessary QoL for Hydro Traveler. Thankfully, its free but also lost cause that the shield is only for himself ONLY during the duration of the held-skill.

One thing worth noting: the alignment doesn't just impact enemies, but also the objects in the open world, including triggering underwater with the basic swimming attack. This can save you a little bit of running, climbing, and swimming time in the open world. So while it isn't really worth building HMC, you might want to run HMC at 1/1/1 and whatever artifacts you have laying around, plus Lynette, while exploring Fontaine.

The only consolation I have for this situation is that at least I won't have to run into that dilemma of what element the MC should be. It's Dendro all the way. DMC and Nahida are key to NIlou Bloom for me and it's good (at least for me) that it stays that way for another year. They really fooled us into thinking that future MC element types will be good, well...it's been fun dreaming about that.

I love playing the MC for immersion purposes and, since Hydro is pretty much the strongest element in the game, was looking forward to playing Hydro MC. Since Fontaine dropped until today, I have been developing my Hydro MC in hopes something would come out of it. Without doubt I can say that this is the most absolute dogshit character in the entire game and no one even comes close to how bad they are. Xinyan and Amber, the jokes of the game are still superior in every possible way. The weakest Hydro unites (Candace and Barbara) outclass the Hydro MC by such a wild amount, it is almost inconceivable. Man, I wish at last there was a cool factor in how they look or play, but no. The water finger gun looks incredibly stupid and feels horrible to play around. Is this revenge for the Dendro MC for being so strong? Did they design it in 0.5 and are still rolling with it? I don't know but I absolutely hate it.

I feel like if the hydro MC was allowed to use both pneuma and ousia like being a mini furina but instead it would be like the skill applies pneuma while the burst applies ousia which would still make them not be good enough but it would have allowed the traveler to have a niche, yes I know Lynette is there but if the traveler could use ousia it would allow a little of utility but I think if they allowed you to customize which burst and elemental skill of the five elements you want to use it would increase the traveler usage exponentially of course the scaling would be the same as it is in the moment

Here's a wild take: Use Hydro traveler as a Favvery [Fav battery] for hydro characters or team generally. He would be pretty low investment. Three things you need- Favonius sword, as entailed by the role Favvery; Marechaussee Hunter set with a crit circlet, and lastly, recommended C4 for traveler so you don't need a shielder for the sake of a battery. This is primarily a low-investment battery considering Marechaussee Hunter+Favonius passive synergy behaving much like a Royal series weapon that grants energy.Considering that Hydro Traveler makes successive attacks in the ability, the skill which causes stacks of Marechaussee hunter to trigger, he will have high probability to trigger Fav without relying on substats. Max stacks of Hunter, 36% plus 31% crit from circlet and you got yourself a neat 67% crit to build off. You're gonna expect running Traveler 3s on-field in hold-skill if you want to maximize their crit as it will take 3 seconds for 3 self-inflicted damage instances to take place. Hydro Traveler also produces 3.33 hydro particles. It's a long ways off from Sac XIngqiu, but HMC would be a runner-up if Xingqiu is occupying another team, bored of him, or if XIngqiu is anti-synergistic with a team you are running with. Does it make Hydro Traveler super viable or actually good? No. Does it make him unique? Yes, actually. Needs very little substat investment for fav triggering, which in exchange uses a risky mechanic of draining HP plus being stationary for that period, but it eases substat grinding, so you can invest more into crit dmg, energy recharge, and/or atk. I'll try it out myself and see how it does. BIg problem with this build- farming the new set which nobody previously farmed, traveler occupying a larger uptime than other batteries, being vulnerable during the process, equipping Fav opportunity cost, and especially the need for Hydro Traveler to be at least 62% of max HP for the Marechaussee to gain max stacks, so if you aren't picking up the orbs which would extend HMC's uptime, you're gonna lose consistency on a large chunk of crit.

I wish the Hydro traveler was a straight up reskin of the Dendro traveler. The skill would just be a simple water hit, and the burst would be a water circle that deals damage at intervals, like Ayato's ring. ANEMO → burst lasts 2 more seconds and doesn't move GEO → additional DEF scalings on burst and skill ELECTRO → increases the absorption radius for the skill amulets, higher energy generation and burst duration DENDRO → maybe a buff for the C6 numbers HYDRO → burst doesn't move and has additional HP scaling, better HP scaling for skill

Dendro MC remains the only one that is useable in actual teams, i do use geo mc time to time and in fact its been my MC default only because you can use her boulder from her skill for a added boost if kazuha isnt enough for those tricky spots lol I did use ameno MC alot and remember being a. I haven't found those sources of Swirl getting old; if you don't like teambuilding the Anemo MC will almost never be unable to fight effectively without support. Probably not what you want in timed fights, but fairly easy commissions and domains aside those are not common.

Mc usualy copys the skills from archon. Anemo -- small venti Aoe Geo --- meteor but on ground Electro -- battery Dendo -- mini dome Hydro --- gun So Hydro archon will have a minigun as A Q that makes her lose hp i guess..

Right now I'm having fun with Hydro MC and using him more as support for my Dendro characters, but if I get Neuvillette in the next update I will change back to Dendro because Dendro is one of the best for MC. But right now I'm just having fun😄.

Trying to find something to convince me to build Hydro MC, I've been reluctant to start since his/her kit is horrible. But I guess judging from your video, I might just ditch the ER needs (ignoring the burst) and focus on the skill instead. So, Atk scaling weapons and sands, and ignoring the HP scaling.

Hydro MC will take a while to get used to. Perhaps there’s a future character whose kit is a great compliment. Making MC’s Burst pick up and trap enemies like Hydro Mage / Anemo Burst feels like a missed opportunity.

Remember that you can hit weakspots with his skill, then you can guarantee critical hits, which means you can stack full critical DMG and do a freeze comp so you can hit weakspots guarantee with all shots while you use some cryo supports to keep aplying cryo.

Let us all be real here, ALL MC's kit per element excluding Dendro is going to suck or lackluster. Furthermore, the only reason why Dendro MC is good is because Dendro is new at that time and we need an alright dendro unit besides Tighnari and Collei. As per other elements, they all existed since the beginning with many characters already, so making MC good to those elements is not needed.

No, the only reason dendro mc was good was because dendro reactions are for the most part entirely EM based and thus scale on lvl, not atk and other stats which the traveller is lacking in.

Yeah the traveler's kit has always been made for the sole purpose of exploring the new region, the only time that changed is when Sumeru needed dendro bows so we got Collei instead. I can't believe people are getting confused over this.

Funnily enough hydro mc is what makes the narwhal boss easy, just press e on the "man" when he's doing his one attack 4 times, then go ham with dps

i only use traveler in my overworld team with xiao, yanfei and baizhu. was looking forward to being able to use HMC for burgeon but it seems hoyo designed the kit to be as anti-bloom core as possible ;-;

Like I get hydro MC is pretty bad (especially coming off Dendro MC) but I think people will always argue whether the abilities of constellations should be added to the kits if characters and have different ones constantly (Mtash complained a few of Yae Miko should have been kit not constellations) So the constellations being arguably not good enough is not just a traveller issue

This comment reminds me of how I honestly think the meta community has an extremely skewed view in energy costs. They always go Beidou or someone has a high cost, and then the character's burst cost is actually only 70. That's certainly high enough you need to worry about it, but it's literally average. I don't remember how many have 60, but there's between a handful and a dozen of characters (5-8?) that have a cost of 40 and only Nahida with 50. It's definitely less than 12 within a cast of over 70 characters. The vast majority of characters have 60-80 energy and the highest costing ones being 90. And yet somehow if they have 70+ energy, it's a very common addition to the complaint list if a character is considered bad.

Hydro Traveler is just Anemo Traveler with a Hydro infused burst Just somehow... Worse in every single aspect. Burst cant be stopped by walls, good luck controlling what it hits, unlike Anemo Traveler Skill... just use it for the parametric transformer and for puzzles, and for the ousia enemies ig until we get new units Normal attacks dont even have a Hydro finisher like Anemo or Geo Traveler do :(

Feel like a lock-on mechanic for the skill like Nahida's would be nice, and when you release it there would be a set amount of Hydro shots that would target the enemies highlighted. If the burst started from MC's position and gained a bigger AoE over time, I think would be better overall for viability. I still think MC we got is okay, just not very useful in most scenarios.

because you have plenty of Hydro characters in the first place. heck the same reason why you dont see much everyone using the Anemo traveler in spiral or overworld much is you have now good crowd control characters like Kazuha is just an upgraded version of Sucrose and Venti the then only character that can crowd control and 4 stars like Faruzan, despite being a buffer, her skill and CA could group up enemies, and Heizo with his burst. while Dendro element is still a baby especially an off field support/subdps thats why Dendro Traveler is good to use, just like Geo Traveler is still better cuz of most of the geo character right now are niche support at best.

Thank u for this!! there's not a lot of guides because majority of the genshin community have no interest in building Hydro MC. it's understandable, given that it's a questionable kit but lock me up in some Fontaine's prison cell because I'm honestly having fun with the pewpew gameplay (we don't talk about the burst, let's all collectively forget about it) Sniperbloom (raiden + nahida + hydro mc) sold me on building Traveler for the first time ever. Hydro MC is dubbed as the worst Traveler kit, but here I am lmao. it's just goofy that it's entertaining and fun using them in the overworld. And I can finally retire XQ for a little bit bc he's my only hydro character aside from barbs

He didn’t even need to be a damage dealer just giving him decent hydro application and maybe some healing since that used to be Hydros thing, and that would give a serviceable unit that doesn’t upset the meta or anything but would work if you wanted them to. This is just sad adjdkdkskxn
