25:30 While discussing addition of X2 on alkene, two questions arise: 1) Why didn't X- attacked the cationic carbon of the first carbocation formed? I mean what is the need of forming a highly unstable non classical carbocation when products could have been obtained from direct attack of halogen nucleophile? 2) Assuming that the non classical carbocation is formed, why didn't X- attack on the electron deficient X+ instead of carbon atom and formed X2 again i.e. a reversible reaction?

Sir at 16:35 u said that 1° free radical is more stable but in reality 2° free radical is more stable..
@natru74483 жыл бұрын
He named the 2 degree radicle as “1” and the 1 degree radicle as “2” attack happens in less stable radicle, which is in 1 degree or “2”

reaction is happening with bromine with alkane and the product will be alkyl bromide and HBr so why the colour will not disappear ? if bromine become unreacted with alkane then the colour will remain . but alkane bromine reaction is possible
@workplease56963 жыл бұрын
they do decolourise but very slowly as they're not as reactive as alkenes/alkynes
