IMO. With battery prices dropping fast, BEV is a cheaper & less complex product that is cheaper to operate and maintain!

There's a lot of people hating on Nikola for whatever reason. But the reality is that Nikola trucks are all over the place around the LA and Long Beach ports hauling freight. The future of transportation is happening right in front of our eyes . And that's a FACT.

Nikola has to get to $75 a share to even break even from last year. They are in so deep that bankruptcy is just around the corner. Oh FYI. The big truck companies already have hydrogen trucks in design and R&D.

doesn't the water have to be pure? otherwise slight impurities would build up in the system. The costs of purifying the water would raise the cost of running water into hydrogen.

Notice they never talk about costs? To give you an idea on why hydrogen trucks will never take off. It costs 5 to 6 times as much for the fuel, 3 times the cost for the truck, more maintenance and higher operating non fuel costs. To go 100,000 miles in a FCEV (hydrogen) semi it will cost over $400,000 in fuel alone. To go the same distance in diesel truck it will cost $66,000. No one is going to pay $344,000 more to fuel their trucks every year. As a bonus to go the same distance in a BEV (electric) semi it will cost $14,000. How many people do you know that are willing to pay the difference of over the cost of a new semi every year in fuel alone to drive a hydrogen truck?

The hydrogen tank in the truck needs, require replacing multiple times during the 1M miles service life.. Hydrogen isn't meant for this application. Battery only will be the way.

95% of all hydrogen is made through steam reformation which is just as bad or worse than burning diesel and you get to pay 5 times as much to pretend to be green.

Hydrogen trucks requires green hydrogen. You're more likely to find a herd of unicorns than enough green hydrogen to run a handful of vehicles. Fuel cells are expensive and extremely difficult to keep running. A hydrogen vehicle has everything that an EV requires along with dangerous difficult to contain hydrogen. Can only assume this channel is supported by the fossil fools industry.
