Contrary to popular belief Green Hydrogen does not use electricity or Enzymes, we can produce masses of Hydotgen using the conventional Steam Reformation process, but use Methane from Algae instead of fossil fuel Methane. A simple Photo Bio Reactot( PBR) build next to each industrial Steam Reformer, would capture CO2 to grow the Algae, so would be a cyclic Carbon Capturing apparatus, and produce fertiliser as a Bi Product, as well as the Hydrogen!. 🌻✊🏽🌎

So I am working on a project in school, Anaerobic conversation of biomass to biogas using cow dung, the end product is methane. My question is, can this methane be converted to hydrogen? Please reply.
@Kiyarose39992 жыл бұрын
@@nathanfortner Yes, at the moment Hydrogen is produced using fossil fuel Methane. But we can make Algae Methane( BioGas) via a Methane Digester, then the Algae BioGas ( Methane) that is produced can be used in the same way as Fossil Fuel Methane. In a (current/standard) Steam Reformation plant, the Algae BioGas combusted to make the steam, and to get the Hydrogen from. Producing Carbon Neg Algae Hydrogen, and the Carbon emitted from the Hydrogen production and the Steam production can then be re fed into the Photo Bio Reactors( PBR) to produce more.Algae for more Hydogen!.
@Kiyarose39992 жыл бұрын
@@nathanfortner Although‘’Cow Dung’’ is commonly used, it isn’t sustainable cos it perpetuates Animal Ag which is the leading cause of Global Warming via Land misuse, deforestation to grow animal feed, and to graze animals. So using ‘’Cow Dung’’ is greenwashing Animal Agriculture, far better to use Algae BioGas that permanently sequesters atmospheric CO2, and only needs waste water as feed, so cleaning the waste water in the process. A Win win win! 🌻🌎✊🏽

Yes, the methane can be converted to hydrogen... You need to know that biogas produced during the anaerobic digestion process is a combination of different gases and not just methane...

The efficiency isn't 0.5 percent for algae. Only for green plants. For microalgae its 98 percent of photosynthetic conversion rate.
@ИванИванович-ы6щ6й3 жыл бұрын
@@최일웅-c7w I am not sure what is 98 percent you are meaning. May be you can show internet resorse that I can read about it. I can explain my point of view. 1 square meter of green plants can produce no more than 2 kilos of carbohydrates - sugar or cellulose per year. It is 32 megajoules of energy. Solar year insolation is 1500 kilowatthours per square meter. It is 5400 megajoules of energy per year. Hence efficiency of green plants is 0.6 percents.

Producing hydrogen using electricity is very inefficient. This is the main reason why Elon Musk never bothered making Hydrogen powered cars. Unfortunately batteries take a long time to re-charge and are too heavy for long distance airplanes. Hydrogen fuel has more practical applications when it comes to powering planes and rockets. Using Algae to produce hydrogen is more practical than using the electrolysis method. Unfortunately the process of harvesting algae is expensive. This is why research is conducted to make the process more efficient for large scale productions. Research is not a waste of money.

@@myxsys how is the process of producing algea expansive?

@@joshuanorris9785 Just take a look at videos that show the process of separating algae from water. There are 2 techniques I've come across so far. I can't recall the exact methods since I researched this subject quite a while ago. What I remember though is that in both cases, a lot of energy and processes was used to arrive at the final product.
