You mentioned in the beginning that there were three pumps because of the mid mower, but never went on to clarify about the third pump. I am very interested in purchasing the states to pump for a 2038 tractor that has not arrived yet and is due in April.

Sorry for the confustion. I was referring to 3 different types of installation variations. 2R no mower, 2R with mower, 3E. There are technically 3 pumps if you count the stock pump, but for now, the stage 2 at 140% more flow than stock is the largest.

Thank you for the reply. I read in the replies at one point or another, that some fellow was having a hard time installing the pump because he had the select cut variation for his 2038R tractor. I am sure that I selected the same for my tractor when it arrives. Has this added to the complications of installing the pump? And do you have further input as what I should do? it was ordered with pretty much anything that you can put onto it, and I’m going to order a bunch of accessories to use with it.

At 6:55 you state that with the new pump you 'are going from a 5/8 fitting to a 1/2 inch'. Are you actually using a smaller fitting? If so, why?

Yes, but I may have said it in a confusing way. The pump outlet for the stage 2 pump is 5/8 (stock and stage 1 are 1/2) and the tractor has a 1/2 female fitting. This is why I'm supplying a 5/8 to 1/2 adapter in the stage 2 kit where on the stage 1, you will reuse the fitting from the stock pump.

Not in the near term. The biggest I have plans for at the moment is the 3R, but maybe in the future!

At some point wouldn't bigger hydraulic lines be required?

Eventually yes. There are guidelines to building hydraulic systems, but they are very conservative. The key is managing heat, but there is a point in which laminar flow breaks down if your fluid speed is too fast. The construction industry doesn't follow the guidelines, but they probably do know when the laminar flow breaks down. For example, the Bobcat T770 high flow skid steer has 36.6 GPM and it sends that through 3/4" hydraulic hose and quick couplers. If you use the hydraulic nomograph, 3/4 hose is rated for 13 GPM (if you use the standard 10 ft/sec for pressure lines). Following their lead, the 1/2 lines on the 2R/3E should be good to 16 GPMs and probably as high as 20 GPM.
