Well, it was due time for her to finally let it out. He asked her to be on the show, this by itself probably led her to assume that there's a chance of them getting back together. Her breaking down on the candy incident was probably her realizing as well that there is now 0% probability that they still have a chance to work thinngs out. Despite her crying...she's strong cause me personally I would want to go home.

Hwihyeon is literally still very young. He looks carefree. That's why he does things without thinking it deeply and I actually understand his actions. We made immature decisions when we were young and that's exactly what he did in this case.
