2 years after being seeing this, I came back after getting a bass guitar. Sad that there's no Bolt Thrower master class since it sounds like rage incarnate to me. You're a funny dude, always super captivating, and definitely some sort of inspiration inside of me. Keep rockin, Chuck!

Hylics 2 was something I've had on my Wishlist for some time and I hadn't had a chance to play it up until recently, and I've been enthralled by it. In large part the visuals of course, but also the music, it really helps to tie the aesthetic of the game together and it would feel really empty without it. You somehow managed to perfectly combine the feeling of tension and conflict while also being perfectly at ease. The chorus, the bassline, there's not a bad thing about these tracks!

I've had a slide since I was 16 too. I needed one for a guitar lesson and thankfully my DT teacher (I think American's call that lesson "woodshop"?) was also a guitarist and just sawed off a chunk of old steel pipe and told me to sand the hell of it so I didn't hack my finger to pieces. It's not very shiny or pretty but works good enough that I used it to learn this!

Aw I missed the livestream but I'm catching up on it now! Really love watching you go through the parts, especially the bass parts so I could learn and play along! =) The guitar parts are great but your bass parts for your hylics work just....Oof, so good! Quick question about the Peavey: do you know any good places to find one? Where did you find yours?
@chuck_salamone3 жыл бұрын
My dad actually brought this home from a business trip to Georgia. He found it in a pawn shop in Atlanta. That was about 2006-2007. You can find them on reverb. Mine is actually in “okay” condition for how old it is! 11/10, highly recommend for its boinkiness!

Do you think we will ever see both osts on vinyl? It just seems like a perfect thing to be on vinyl, maybe even cassettes or 8 tracks (jk on the 8 tracks) but it would be a hit..idk how much it would cost, a bit id assume but so many people would buy it. And I know the two of you are working on own projects and the next collaboration and all that but id legit give you a big hug and tell you im proud of you like a dad lmao 🤣 Great video btw, rly easy to learn with this walk-through

What effects were used on this track?
@grantdrag3 жыл бұрын
Mainly asking for the guitar part btw
@chuck_salamone3 жыл бұрын
@@grantdrag It's mostly clean signal embellished with various intensities of TC Electronic Corona Chorus, MXR Phase 90, and the EHX Grand Canyon delay and looper pedal. I also use a brass tube slide quite a bit. And the whole thing is soaked with reverb.

@chuck_salamone23 күн бұрын
it was very basic. Not much of a vocal melody, but it was a solid song for a plucky 14/15 year old to have written. It really came together with the guys I was playing with. They pop in and out of the comments sections every once in a while, so if Sean, Taylor, or Rob are reading this, howdy fellas!

What kind of pedals do you use?
@chuck_salamone2 жыл бұрын
Oh, man…a TON! Distortion is always Wampler Sovereign. Got an MXR Phase 90. Couple of different chorus pedals, mainly the Tc electronic Corona chorus, but I also have the OBNE Visitor. I have a boss harmonist, but it needs repairs, so for octaver I use a TC electronic quintessence. Got some really weird ones like the EHX mainframe, EHX Blurst, EHX Grand Canyon delay and looper module (primarily for the shimmer effect). I also have some other EHX stuff like the B9 Organ Machine and the Attack/Decay reverse tape simulator. Honestly, if it’s kinda weird, I usually buy it. Looking forward to getting some Chase Bliss stuff eventually. Maybe some more Old Blood Noise Endeavors pedals. Who knows, I’m always on the lookout for bizarre sounds!
