I had a couple classes with him, he was a grade above me. Our American Civil War class, taught by who we called “Big Rodgers”. In this class Rodgers was so passionate about teaching the material, unfortunately people mostly didn’t take it serious and would hide being on their phones. Joe wouldn’t, even being the popular quarterback, he didn’t follow the popular example set by his other upperclassmen. He would take the class seriously, and be engaging. Joe would talk to people “less popular” as equals, because that’s how he truly thinks of them. His humility, respectfulness, and motivation really left an impression of who he was on people around him. I’m glad he was given the recognition that he so truly deserves.

Wow! So cool to see this! Being a Bengal fan and loving the fact that we have him, I hadn’t heard a lot of the person Joe Burrow. There’s much more to him than just being a superstar quarterback! Love this!

I said this on the radio at my Gospel Station: " In order to know where we are going, we have to know where we have Been." Joe Burrows KNOWS where he's been. Congrats! Good Luck in Cincinnati!

The only one I know of that remotely rivals it is John Capaletti's speech where he talks about his little brother dying of cancer in '73

This kid has that "IT" factor that comes around only so often. Mature, kind, and seemingly wise beyond his years. I wish him the very best of luck in his journey called life.

you knew it was gonna be good when he started with thanking the o-line... what an amazing human being. I dont keep up with college football anymore... didnt catch any games besides a few, including the ut lsu game... but joe burrow just managed to tell his entire story, with his heart on his sleeve, to millions of people... and I'm not going to lie, I got emotional. I wish him the most success in the NFL.

I remember when my little brother played against him in high school. He was an Athens Bulldog, my little brother was a Jackson Ironman. Jackson beat them his first 2 years, then he grew up his Junior and Senior year, and destroyed almost everyone they played by 70 points…. His stats were God-like! They lost the state championship by 2 I believe it was, and unfortunately their kicker missed 3 field goals… he also threw a touchdown pass to himself in the high school playoffs against Columbus St. Francis Desales… Kids a legend in Southeastern Ohio!
