Hylos NEW Item Build & PRO In-depth Guide | Thunderbelt Clock of Destiny | Hylos Best Guide 2024

I will provide an in-depth guide on how to use Hylos which I believe is soon going to be one of the best Tank heroes in the game because of the recent changes from our last patch update specifically with Clock of Destiny and Thunderbelt.
This is going to be a special in-depth guide because Hylos is my main roamer and in this guide, I’d give out pro tips on how to effectively and efficiently use him in detail.

That's what is good about spamming Hylos is you'd get to know his limits and know when to recall back or stay on the map I have almost 1k games in him and it helps a lot to know his limits

Hylos is really amazing for learning how to actively pressure enemies. I'm a Tigreal main, and last year I switched to Hylos just to change things up and maybe broaden my game knowledge. He really does reward a tank player for knowing how to be aggressive. Flash forward to just a couple months ago, I started using Tigreal again, and that experience with Hylos did wonders. Hylos takes away your fear of death, and teaches you how to make enemies fear your very presence. To any Tigreal players who are so used to just hiding in a bush, waiting to set, and neglecting your ability to zone, I highly recommend trying Hylos for some time. He'll fix a passive player's habits for good.

As a roamer player, I totally understand setter heroes like tigreal or khufra being so used to hiding and not taking advantage of their tankiness to zone out I've made a similar point from my rotation roamer guide before wherein simply letting your presence known in a place even without actually doing anything would make an impact

Yup. Worked the same for me. I was a Natalia main and had trouble initiating fights with other roamers. I began playing Hylos last season and now I feel easy playing with Grock, Tigreal and Gato. I feel that not dying and staying on the map for longer times helps with positioning knowledge.

I've been using Hylos non-stop in Classic and Ranked games. Finally reached Mythic solo this season! Revitalize is really great compared to Vengeance because Hylos lasts longer through teamfights. Something I've been doing is buying Elegant Gem first before Thunderbelt to make use of it's Regen early on.

As a Hylos main and constantly standing in top 10 India ranking from past 3 seasons with 1500+ matches and 62% win rate i would like to discuss something with you, I feel like Thunderbird gives very less to know defence in the early game and if you are sure that you are going to the late game then I think Thunderbird works fine but then you are giving yourself a disadvantage by not building items like dominance etc which gives better stats and upper hand to finish game early

I'm a hylos user aswell, usually playing solo. and we have the same Item set. However, different priority Items to buy. Thunderbelt is good yes, but I dont recommend it as 1st item when playing solo. As good as it is, usually your team mates in solo games are un coordinated, making it though for you to survive and help out. Elegant gem then Clock of destiny is better as a first item since it has all of hylos needs. Mana, HP, defense, damage and quick regenaleration due to elegant gem at early game is OP. But this is still debatable coz in 5 man squad, most of the time you and your team are coordinated enough for you to be able to survive if you go with TB.. Emblem is and priority skill buildup is also different. But your revitilize is good insight, since Im having a hard time making my teammates survive a clash

@@lindberghyurimaaba9208 well said my friend! Before the update, I prioritize getting CoD because just like you said, elegant gem is sooo OP in early game especially on Hylos. Then ofc, the early you get CoD before, the early you get to full stacks. I totally understand your point of being tough to get stacks from thunderbelt with randogs especially you, being a solo player, it may be hard to get stacks up. But ofc, we have to give the guide for the best potential efficiency and we'd have to strive for the best efficiency. :)

Another layer to his passive is that mana and HP regens separately even though you can use both to fuel your S2. This means Hylos regains mana twice as fast when his HP is not full, or in other words, turning off your S2 just because you're out of mana is a waste. The intricacies of Hylos lies in the management of his two bars

If you are pertaining to the "it does not stack" description in Revitalize. It is actually talking about not stacking with other Revitalize. Meaning, having 5 Revitalize used at once won't work. But it should stack with Oracle's healing amp and I already tested it :)

Personally I am going with Clock of Destiny first item as I found it to be the single most impactful item for Hylos and then I go Thunder Belt second item. Sure you get less overall stacks on thunderbelt, but getting clock allows your team to win early game clashes due to how tanky you are. Getting 1600 hp in the early game along with the 2 passives of CoD combined with Hylos high initial stats turns you into a beast in the early game.

I completely understand the thought. Another good thing about getting this item early on is you'd get to benefit from the Elegant Gem's regen allowing you to stay on the map as long as possible in early game. One thing to note though is that the Hybrid defense from this item's effect scales by level which means, you won't get as high hybrid defense from it if you get it early on. What makes Hylos apart though is that his passive effect gives him extra 1200 HP from this unlike other heroes. So if the only reason why you'd get it is for its amazing stats on Hylos then use that to play aggressively early on -- by all means, do so. :D

as a tank main well a counter tank main (yes i main tanks not roam just tanks and counter tank is someone who picks tank based on what it counters) he is one of my hidden gems because some people dont know some passive and skills are tied to attack speed gatos passive slam, aldous punch, yins burst they all are tied to attack apeed so hes basically a hard counter to them

@@LuRuGaming I hope they make hylos's 2nd skill have a HP based additional damage even like a meager 1% because his 2nd skill doesnt really scale well with magic power, only 20% from addtl. Magic power on top of that he has no magic power scaling... This addtl. Damagr can put hylos on the META

For me personally, I think that Hylos' Second skill is the highest DPS in the game if used properly. It's always to remember that the it stacks up increasing the damage and debuffs over time. In fact, I capitlizes on this fact that he is probably one of the strongest level 1 hero because of his second skill. Meaning, the longer he stays in the clash - the higher potential damage that you'd get and this is just "one" part of his play style. Given that, I build him to be as tanky as possible so that he could stay long enough in the clash to potentially get the stacks as high as he can in clashes to deal very high damage and that's where my damage would come from (not by getting item that gives magic power) but instead, by being tanky enough to stay alive in clashes with the help of your very high HP regen to burn them down with my second skill

@@melchorligartecruz Most definitely but CoD may not be the best item on him (although it is decent) mainly because you need to keep pumping out magic damage to get the stacks of hybrid defense But instead you could go along the lines of Common emblem for mana regen then any defense talents, probably agility for MS Then items like T.belt, Oracle, Then any def item according to enemy line up But if you don't think that you'd fight a lot in a clash, then you can always replace t.belt

what do you think as a quantum charge instead of BS ?

@@airwave09 great question! Quantum charge would always stay a top tier Talent but the question is, is there a better talent that would fit the play style of your hero. In this case, Hylos has very high hp pool and BS heals by max HP% Also, hylos' playstyle is that he wants to tank as much damage but stay alive as long as he can in clashes. Moreover, BS healing is amplified by Oracle and Revitalize which is part of his build. The only reason why you'd pick up QC on Hylos is you want the extra movespeed to get on top of the enemies and stay there while you burn them with your 2nd however, he can easily do this with his ult or first skill's extra movespeed plus his 2nd skill and ult slows the enemies. its a good build for sure . but anti healing items are more accesible now and its 90% used in the every matches. so using vitalize in fights might not be as valuable compared to vengance which unffacted by the anti healing , it gives out damage metigation 35% and returns 35% damage per damage recieved.

Cursed helm is a VERY good early item HOWEVER, since you'd want to get Thunderbelt ASAP, it is a much better early game item for Hylos. Cursed helm doesn't give really high HP but it would give you an extra DPS but again, Hylos second skill's DPS is already very high and the longer you stay in clashes, the higher damage potential you can inflict which means, items that give higher stats is much better on Hylos. This is why I don't pick up Cursed helm on him anymore but perhaps, it may be a different story on a core hylos

The only benefit of not leveling up skill 2 is to save up mana. HOWEVER, its mana cost has already been lowered from a recent patch. Plus, the damage, movespeed and attackspeed % reduction scales really well with level. Max the second skill ASAP is my take.

Hi Stock! Thanks for the request and as a guide content creator, let me tell you that there is no DUMB questions. To be honest, it may take me a while to create another Atlas guide but I did one long time ago (which may be outdated now) that you may check out but let me just share some quick run down about the Atlas of "today" Atlas is mainly a setter hero with very good mobility which is a good trait for a setter to have. Take note that all of his skills magic damage. Passive = you'd get to frost enemies in place for quite some time if you stay on top of them for a few seconds after using a skill. So keep this in mind and try to stay on top of the enemies after using your combos as this is an additional layer of CC. First skill deals damage to all units around him in "waves" that can deal multiple hits (up to 3) -- best way to use it when you're literally right beside an enemy (so they get 2 hits from the wave) but if they run away, they get hit 3 times. Second skill is his main mobility. You gain extra MS and you'd eject the squid creature out of Atlas. Important to take note that you'd get 50% damage reduction but both units (squid and robot body) could take damage. The initial eject from your body could also pass through walls. These are very important notes to remember as you could use this to survive and escape the clash. Another mechanic that it has is, when the main body and squid combined together, all units around you would be stunned. Lastly, if you use your first skill while in the ejected form, both squid and body would use the first skill and deal its full damage from both sides. Meaning, you can potentially double the damage of your first skill if you used it while in "ejected form". So you could use your first skill while in ejected form right beside the enemies (just right before your body and squid joins together) so they can take all the wave damage from all sides hitting them for up to potentially 6 times if done correctly. Ultimate is his main set skill that can displace multiple enemies around to a different spot and stunning them. Take note that this is a channeling skill and enemies could still react to escape while you're channeling it so it would be best if you use Flicker on him to surprise the enemies making it harder for them to react. 2 ways to use it effectively are 1.) Use your second skill for the extra MS and wait for your body and squid to join together to stun the enemies before using your ulti so it would be harder for the enemies to react and 2.) take note that you don't have to fully channel the skill and use it right away before the enemies could react to escape or dodge your ulti. To be frank, Tigreal is a better version of Atlas ever since they nerfed Atlas second and ulti combo (the combo no longer gives immediate stun) and Buffed Tigreal's ulti (it already stuns enemies in the initiall pull). So if you're going to look for setter heroes then the best ones of this meta are Minotaur and Tigreal. You may check my Minotaur guide I've uploaded a few months back.

Is clock of destiny really good? Because most of the time hylos MANA is below 50% due to second skill. So not benefit at all for HP since the cooldown is 1 min.

@@Priestitude I get your point but CoD's effect is not the main reason why you pick it up. The main reason being the incredible stats it gives to hylos which is improved by his Mana as explained in the vid. As for CoD's effect of hp and mana regen, it is based on Max HP/mana regen Then the HP regen is further enhanced by Oracle and revitalize combined with all of his other healing (ult and B.smite) makes him a monster And since healing is based on Max HP percentage then he'd get a lot since his max hp is massive

@@HUNTER_STR1KE Definitely but there's a certain of play that works best and the whole team should be in the know to make it work. Hylos core strives in early game aggression. The team should go with him and be very active in the early game by invading and pushing turrets as early as possible. Keep in mind that Hylos is very strong at level 1 (probably the strongest in a 1v1 fight) and use that timing to get momentum. HOWEVER, take note that doing this is much harder after the changes they did with the first 2 minutes of increased damage received when invading enemy jungles.

Nope, the only reason you'd get Glowing wand is you want the increased Magic damage, Burning damage and Anti heal. But at the end of the day, Hylos is still a tank hero and he loves the stats of Dominance Ice + it has mana stats = giving you additional HP. He needs to be as tanky as possible to stay longer in clash and his second skill's damage would also increase as the clash goes longer so you don't necessarily need the damage from Glowing wand.

The only reason I'd get Glowing wand is for the magic damage, Burn and Anti-healing effect but it is important to take note that we itemize based on the hero's play style and to counter the enemies. In this case, Hylos is still a tank at the end of the day and the stats he'd gain from Dominance Ice is still much better to last long in clashes. Plus, it gives Mana which will give him more HP because of his passive. Hylos shines on prolonged clashes because his second skill's damage goes higher the longer the fight is. Which technically means, he could potentially deal more damage by being tankier.
