"Hymn do miłości ojczyzny" - Polish Patriotic Song

Written in 1774 by Prince-Bishop Ignacy Krasicki for King Stanisław August Poniatowski's Corps of Cadets, it became in the latter's reign an unofficial national anthem of Poland. The lyrics convey the idea that love of Country gives meaning to poverty, wounds and death.
Popular during the Polish Enlightenment, Krasicki's patriotic poem also became the anthem of the Warsaw Corps of Cadets.

​​​​@@Duolyngo Are you insane, imbecile or trolling? Because I don't imagine how could one be so ignorant and speak publicly on that topic. There are three groups of Slavs (in brackets main nationalities): West (Poles, Czechs, Slovaks, Sorbians), East (Russians; Ruthenians, i.e. Byelorussians and Ukrainians) and South (Slovenians, Serbians, Croats, Bulgarians, Macedonians, Montenegrins, Bosniaks). West Slavs, East Slavs and South Slavs. All of them profess different religions today. Ethnicity is not the same thing as religion. How could one possibly mix up these things? Nevertheless, if one were to say that "true Slavs" profess one specific religion, then you would have to choose Catholicism, because all of these peoples (except for Muscovites/Russians) were in the overwhelming majority Catholic at one point in history or are currently.
