When you do a rough edit of your vocals the first time, do you mute the track that you record at your parents house on the final editing? So in other words you just sync up the tracks so that the recording of what you are singing lines up with the rough edit singing?

Yeah exactly! I put a loud clap at the beginning of my track, and that gets recorded by the camera when I do the video, so both tracks have a big spike of audio at the beginning, and it makes it very easy to line up all the footage. :)
