enjoyed very much! my husband was diagnosed with an incurable cancer on a Friday, on Sunday morning we went to church and sat on the front row. the first hymn we sang that day was “It is Well” and we all sang it with tears streaming down our faces, and we meant every word. This song means so much to us, and we love the story behind it’s writer. thank you!

my mom is the pianist at church and every fifth sunday we have a concert of some sorts. i love the mashup so much my mom and i colaborated to do this by ear. her play the chords while i sing. hope we do it justice. we attend a southern baptist church where all we sing is classic hymms like these. i may have lost most my faith in god but i still enjoy going to church and singing. god bless you guys and the message you spread in song.

If one knows how great our God is and the stories behind the songs especially "It is well With My Soul", he or she will find it in his/her heart the desire to strengthen and increase his/her faith more than ever and to live in faith, love, hope, and peace in his/her heart despite the odds, struggles, and difficulties he/she may be facing. My mother-in-law passed away this summer. How Great Thou Art was one of her favorite hymns and was played for her service. This sunday my church sang it and I had a very hard time keeping it together. She was a great woman and this group always sing with such artistry. Thank you.

June 12,1992 Kingston Massachusetts. My then 8 yo son was run over by a 6 wheel dump truck. I immediately started to pray in the Spirit quietly and when the Dr told me my son was paralyzed I said "No he's not, my God's going to heal him." As the med flight flew David to Boston, my husband and I drove on the highway. Still praying in the Spirit but thought for a moment "I don't even know if David's dead it alive." But I had placed him in God's hands and that included even if he died. And right then, I heard in my mind "And sings my soul, my savior God to the, how great thou art, how great thou art all is well with my soul." And for the first time since the accident, I had tears in my eyes. Not in fear or sadness, but tears of how wonderful God's love is, and the peace that passes all understanding guarded my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. David was healed by God through Christ, even the Drs at The Floating Hospital said it was miraculous. He was home walking around in 3 weeks. He is now 34 yo. Glory to God in the highest!
