The main reason why some of her performances were bad was due to being extremely overworked. A lot of the worst performances were during the One Way Love era, which was the time she sometimes looked like she will faint on stage. In that year she has a Sistar 19, a Sistar and a solo comeback. I remember she was pushed to do so many things, like having comebacks (during Loving u they had more than 50 live performances a month) and at the same time she was in Immortal song, she put out music for OSTs, was doing special collabs or performances and had to go to variety shows where they always wanted her to showcase her voice. At some point I believed she is a lost case, because she couldn't even speak anymore without her voice cracking. I am so happy that Sistar disbanded, although there will never be a group that I will love more, but Hyorin AND Soyu both started to lose their voices. I wish Sistar would form their own company like Beast did. Nevertheless she is an amazing performer, my favourite artist , and let's be honest, even her worst performances were better than most of the best performances of other groups ... She is also doing vocal lessons and improved A LOT in the past year. Simply, she is a queen.

@@RhyYeon people constantly say how she is not underrated, but considering how much she had to prove herself, I completely agree. I don't think any idol ever had so much live performances as her, some even lip sync at their own concerts. But as soon as she messes up a note or two, people are "oh, she is not a good vocalist, she is at most averageeee". It's ok hun, as long as you feed me with a Hyorin video occasionally, you can delete all my comments if you wish lol :D:D:D

Learning about vocal technique, I can now understand why some vocalists choose to lipsync. (even skilled ones) because consistency is hard to achieve. And if you're in a constant hectic schedule, it's very hard to take care of your voice. But I still have massive respect to singers who sing live making sure they give their hundred on every performance.

I was about to say it but I noticed other people already did. But still, I'm gonna say it!! Her worst vocals are due to vocal fatigue caused by overworking. Not to mention she dances most of the time performing and she sings live. It's very hard to maintain breath support when you're doing all this movements. I can see in some of her performances where she's struggling to breathe (very shallow inhalations) and then hit the climax notes (which are then strained). Now she's the literally the boss of her self, I hope she can take care of her health.

It's April 2022. I have read all the comments below. Indeed, its the truths that was faced by her. I just want to say, with Hyolyn mindset and talents, nothing is IMPOSSIBLE!!! For comparison purposes, if we have a Formula One car in a race track, Hyolyn can be a Morris Minor or a Volkswagen Beetle. But, don't be surprised, Hyolyn will give her best with her fighting spirit and her very very high determinations to face the challenges!! Even though, in reality, she is a simple and fragile lady. I personally really like the "worst". Not that I don't like the "best", but I like that the worst is slightly more textured.
