Hyori Ittai - HUNTER×HUNTER ED5 [Piano] / Yuzu

The manga of Hunter x Hunter is finally returning this year! Togashi sensei's announcement on twitter last week was a complete surprise and it has caused an unprecedented HxH hype in the global anime and manga community. I absolutely love the manga and I couldn't be happier about this big news. Therefore, I just HAD to arrange a Hunter x Hunter song for this week: Hyori Ittai, the legendary ending song from the Chimera Ant arc!
① The "Hyori Itt - ttai" rhythm in 1:28
This piano arrangement is following the original song as close as possible and even the tiniest detail such as the transition in 0:21 has been recreated on the piano. I especially paid attention to the characteristic "Hyori Itt - ttai" rhythm in 1:28 and articulated them as clear as possible on the piano. I liked that rhythm so much that I repeated it again in 1:34 by matching the left hand rhythm with the right hand.
② The "duet" in 2:21
My favorite part from the original song is the definitely the second verse: The rhythmic energy in 2:10 is simply too addicting and once the "double voice" begins to sing in 2:21 the musical intensity is reaching a completely new level. This song by YUZU is just too awesome.
③ The time signature "riddle" in 4:16
The transition before the final chorus in 4:16 also deserves special mention. I honestly have no idea what exactly is happening in the original song because the music is full of echo effects and without any discernible time signature. After a lot of experimentation I finally found a suitable time signature (two 9/8 bars) and I build up the tension in the music with arpeggios until the "Hyori Ittai" in 4:23 is finally returning again.

I honestly have already completely given up on the conclusion of the legendary HxH Manga - until the announcement last week. We truly live in the best timeline.

This song hits absolutely different after finishing the entire show, this is the final ending song (The first bit is Ending 5, which is for the second half of the chimera ant arc, and then the second bit is ending 6, which plays throughout the chairman Election arc) you don’t have to, but I would recommend this show to you, it is truly a phenomenal work of art, but the chimera ant arc, I believe is the greatest story ever told, it is truly magnificent, definitely give the show a chance, you won’t regret it, have a lovely day!

Because today, while on a long car ride back from my grandmothers place, I finally, after years, got my little sister to watch anime and guess what anime we started watching together? THAT'S RIGHT, HUNTERXHUNTER!!!!! Can't believe Togashi-sensei is back and continuing HxH! As someone who only started watching anime towards the end of 2018, HxH always seemed like this old classic to me, a series from before my time and never would I have imagined I'd see it being worked on and continued in the present! Anyway, _another amazing arrangement!_ This ending is so good, I'd actually have it stuck in my head before I had even watched the show, just from some cover I must have had heard of it somewhere. Save to say it could be quite frustrating at times not knowing where that godly melody playing in my head was from haha^^'

I've started writing my own cover of this song a while back and my favorite part is the call and response part that comes after the first time that the chorus comes in. Once you've reached that part, I couldn't help but imagine playing it with you and you've played it EXACTLY the way I would've done it. Well done once again Animenz! I just finished The Hunter x Hunter 2011 anime not too long ago (April 26, 2023) and I loved the whole adventure with Gon and Killua, the characters and story are amazing and I have grown so attached to Killua and Gon emotionally. When Gon wasn't himself in season 5, I was genuinely worried about him, but when I saw him return in season 6 with his eyes shining and beaming smile, I was so happy! I never knew how much I missed his smile until I saw it again. This anime has such an amazing soundtrack, departure gave me joy and motivation, Hunting for your dreams gave me fighting spirit and motivation, Hyori Ittai brings me joy and I can't help but think of that particular smile Gon had in season 6 (when he saw Leorio) and it makes me smile too. You've always made amazing piano covers that are always insanely accurate and never leave out the emotion tied to the piece. They are incredible, and I am always excited to hear your new and old songs. What a powerful and amazing transcription of Hyori Ittai, I can't help but to smile and exclaim "Hyori Ittai!" when the main chorus plays. ☺

This is my fave ED of HxH and my happiness is immeasurable while listening to this arrangement right now. Thank you so much Animenz! The intro part of this arrangement reminds me of beethoven pieces. The melody+termolo (3-hand technique) part at 4:48 is truly elegant!
