I hear these the exact opposite, they are extremely (sub) bassy and if anything slightly dark due to not having quite enough in the upper mids to counter the extremely strong bass. Treble is well extended and certainly there but I wouldn't call these treble oriented, they are a neutral+bass. The result you get on your measurements with below neutral bass and a huge treble tilt is not seen on anyone else's measurements, either you got a weird sample or it's your measurement methodology or compensation curve. Uncompensated, bass is around +10dB, how is that below neutral? It would be nice to have a bit more clarity on what your "IDF compensation curve" is but the idea these are below neutral in the bass and tilting towards treble is an unorthodox take, they are really bassy and even a little dark (relative to, for example, the otherwise very similar Monarch Mk3- they are very similar but just a hair under in the pinna gain region). Maybe you weren't getting a seal? Only way I can think you would think the bass is below the treble on these.

It's important to remember, that we all have different ear canals and therefore will all hear things differently (to varying degrees). As for the measurement, the IDF compensation I apply is very different compared to others. I use it because it results in a measurement where a flat line will approximate a neutral sound (no significant boosts to any frequencies) for most people. I definitely hear the sub bass from these, but the treble spikes offset that bass for me and result in a more v-shaped presentation to my ears. My guess is that your ear canals might result in different specific treble sensitivities than mine and that you might be getting some boost to the bass in your ear anatomy too.

@@PassionforSound if I wasn't confused before watching, I sure am now. All the other reviewers say the opposite as the other commenter said. What I don't want is another bright set of iem's, $450 AUD is a lot to pay on a guess.

Yeah. IEMs are a tricky one. Are you saying the other reviewer said the same as me or the same as the commenter?

@@111olbap Did you base your decision to buy on his rec alone? I don't know why you are this upset when you can just send them back and get your money refunded. Not trying to be rude, just asking.

@111olbap I'm sorry that you're disappointed in them. As I said above, we all have different ear canals. Taking a recommendation from any reviewer without cross referencing their tastes with some reviews/comparisons of gear you know is asking for trouble because there is no reviewer on the planet than can predict how each different person will perceive the sound. This video will explain it further: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2WUoISKm6mKn6ssi=F4wJFg5SiDuzV7fd

I quite enjoy these. Fun, visceral bass and smooth mid range makes for a nice listen with modern EDM, Hip-Hop and Pop.

Too bad the Treble went out to buy cigarettes, never came back, and abandoned its family. I hate these.

I'm excited to see what they do with higher driver counts. The hype 10 looks interesting with 2DD + 10BAs at $900.

I just saw that too. Looks interesting if they get the tuning right.

Can eq help tone down the high treble! I just purchased the moondrop kato ! I was told it had a a slight bass response ! If anything I heard a slight treble response! No matter what I did, even a bass boost the deep bass could not be detected! I loved all the looks and built quality of the kato but the tonality i could not change even with equalization!! I love the warmth and natural sound to the hype 2 and try them ! I loved the ikko oh10 but Amazon does not carry them anymore! The ikko oh10 s is a little too bright for me !!any suggestions for a nice deep bass without too high a treble iem?

I understand your challenge because most brands tune towards treble these days. I think it's because people perceive it as more technically accurate, but that's just a theory. Maybe check out the 7Hz Timeless or SeeAudio Yume II. P.S. EQ can help, but it will also damage the overall sound quality unless you're using something like the Mojo 2 as your source.

@@PassionforSound I'd imagine a bit more 3D compared to an Etymotic and a Blessing 3 I'd imagine. I've used those for years as detail had always been my priority. I hope for 210 bucks on sale probably a good sweet spot for more a more engaging and dynamic listen? Thank you for your input, my friend! Happy listening!

They should beat those, I think, but I've not directly compared. Either way, they're an enjoyable IEM, especially at that price. Enjoy!

I'm curious to hear what an isobaric arrangement sounds like but first I want to hear what a planar is like. I already know those Sivgas from yesterday aren't the type of tuning I'm currently looking for. The reason why I want to try a planar in the first place is supposedly they can handle busy tracks. Instruments always seem to blur together and I can't pick them out well. Tuning wise my biggest worry is treble fatigue. I'll go back and watch previous reviews but a few planars have come out in that time. Any suggestions? I want to take advantage of the upcoming 11.11 sale.
