Happy to see new people getting into Stalker. I was 20 when the game came out, played it for the first time and loved it. It's a bit weird for me to see people who just played it for the first time in 2024 on console but it's cool that more people get to try it. Consider playing it on PC and trying out some of the great mods out there as well... Or don't, Stalker 2 comes out in 5 days and it will have mod support on console too so no biggie. Can't wait to see the awesome content we get to enjoy from the community.

@@mage0killer i wanna but i just bought my 1st car and insurance for 6 months was almost as expensive as the car plan on getting a decent pc so i can play vr and Stalcraft... But yeah im glad you get see new people come into the series. I 1st heard about this game thru a friend he was playing it on his labtop one day he was living with me but forgot bout it til S2 came out then i played it on console cause i wanted to see if id even like the new game based off if i liked the old ones. Its crazy how long it took this to come out even valve didnt keep HL fans this starved

I just completed the trilogy in the span of 2 weeks for the 1st time, can't wait for stalker 2 to release on the 20th of November since it's also my birthday ;)

Yes as the new game dosn't release til the 20th in 4 more days.... i'll try to post something from S2:HoC that day but i might not get it installed until the next day due to having to work that day and i'm still uncertain if i will get a code in the email 4 the game

I was super hyped until I saw the Nvidia FPS graphs for the new drivers they released. STALKER 2 on a 4090 at 1080p max settings running at 85 FPS...YIKES...that's absurdly bad. Yes, with DLSS 3.0 it then runs at like 160+ FPS, but that's still a 4090 at 1080p. A 4060 barely breaks 50 FPS on the same settings. The 20 and 30 series are going to get hit hard with this. It's a massive CPU-bottleneck game as the difference in FPS on the 4070, 4080 and 4090 isn't really that much, which screams CPU-bottlenecking. UE5 has so many issues, and UE5.4 update "fixed" quite a few CPU issues gaining some 30 FPS on same hardware. So this is no doubt done on the initial UE5, hence the poor performance.

I hope intense CPU usage is because of how advanced the new ALife AI is. Given how long it's been since CoP I'm ready for a release day disaster on the scale of Cyberpunk though.

@@johndowson1852 thats not gonna happen 1) they wouldn't have announced going gold if they still had major bugs to mix running rampant thru the game 2) gsc isnt ea or other similarly big company 3) the last delay was for bug eliminations and adding more detail to some areas that need more polish and detail. ... Based on info the devs gave at the time on their discord the game could've shipped 2023 but was lacking in polish any game that takes almost a year dely for polish is a good sign

@@MrMastrmonstr 1) going gold only means they are ready to ship the game, nothing more, nothing less. CDPR also announced Cyberpunk has "gone gold" few weeks before its disasterous release. They just wanna release it before Christmas for obvious reasons. 2) Exaclty. Because GSC isn't as big as other companies, it doesn't have as much resources AND because their development of the game was affected by the war, there is much higher probability it's going to be very problematic. 3) Yea, maybe true. However, that doesn't mean that the game is good or finished now. They might just be running out of time and there might be pressure as it's going to release on consoles as well. Aiming for both PC and console release has always a negative impact on game development. TLDR you can't be sure of how its release is going to be. All 3 of your arguments are meaningless, you're just "being optimistic" and "hopeful". GSC increasing recommended specs recently is a very bad sign, most likely connected to the bad optimization of the game as to provide them with an "excuse" of "you do not meet our recommended specs, that's why the game is running poorly". Considering the data we have, estimation is definitely pessimistic now.
