Hey, this is a really good video. I’m a B1 aircraft engineer & I work on the 320 series every day. The rat will operate if both AC bus 1 & 2 are lost (idgs from engine1&2). Once deployed (has to be above 100kts) the aircraft will be automatically on battery power for about 8 seconds until the rat is up to speed. Once its up to speed the rat does not directly provide electrical power to the aircraft. Instead it only provides hydraulic power. This is a common misconception. In order to provide electrical power the blue hydraulic system, powered by the rat in emergencies, drives a CSM/G (Constant Speed Motor/Generator) by means of a hydraulic motor. This CSM/G supplies the AC ESS BUS and the DC ESS BUS, via the essential transformer rectifier. The rat has variable pitch prope so it can continue to provide the same level of hydraulic flow through a wide range of aircraft speeds. This wasn’t meant to be patronising, from watching the video I thought there maybe a chance that you or someone watching would be interested to know that the RAT doesn’t directly provide electrical power to the aircraft. Thanks for the video!

Perfect and very well explained Tutorial! Only one thing: Pilots nowadays quite recently land with FLAPS 3, due to fuel saving procedures but also noice reduction, since the flaps create some noise because of the air flowing "against" it. FLAP 3 landings are used at normal, intl. Airports where the runway is long enough for the higher landing speeds. But also the weather should be warm, so the plane has more lift. Hope I could help!

Can’t wait for this series. Following the A320 pilots is great, but you often have to watch hundreds of flights and thousands of hours to pick out the bits you need. Having a detailed dedicated selection of videos will be awesome. Good luck with the project

Thanks for this video series. I've seen a lot of tutorials on how to start different planes from cold & dark, but they never actually explain *why* they are pressing the buttons, or what those buttons do. This will be a very useful series for people like me who don't just want to fly, but want to understand exactly what it is they are doing, rather than just pressing buttons because "that's what I've been told to do". I've not yet migrated to the A320, but am currently working my way through the ATR, so even though the panels are different, it will help me a bit more to understand the systems.

There are a ton of buttons and knobs on the ADIRS panel that weren't mentioned, nor any mention of how much of that is modelled in the popular A320's in MSFS. Also the guarded Hight Altitude Landing button was skipped. When do we use that?

Hello Varun. Came here through the video where you talk about realistic add-ons for MSFS, watched your tutorial and had an idea. I am a trainee FO A320 with Vistara and would love to be able to add information so that even people wanting to go for type-ratings can have a refresher for some of the brief technical aspects of the aircraft, as well as serving more information to flight simmers as well! I would see two ways of doing this, either the same video can be edited and paused at various screenshots while a voice over of you (or me) can be done to give more technical information that pilots need to know by memory (which is quite brief) or we can do a video series on only Airbus 320. Ofc in he edit I would like to always be able to show the relevant documentation reference for pilots. None of this information is confidential and maybe you can even host a link that provides downloads to the Airbus training manuals that are available in public information. The comment area is too small for a discussion as well as flexible ideas, do get back to me if you’d like to pursue this.

Hey there mate - would love to work on this with you for sure. Would you be able to provide an email to get back to you with? I'm about to put this video as private based on some research I've conducted on the KZbin algorithm to upload it in bite sized bits instead of a 38 minute video (Check out my latest "community post" for more information). Would be fantastic if I could get those insights from you and include them in the newer edits. I'll wait on making the video private until you reply. This might be a silly question but.. where's the next one? I mean, it's nice you are saying you're covering every switch and knob, but if it takes 2 years to complete the series, are you really? Also, you should do a bit more when describing a system, like maybe showing a quick system diagram representing how the switch or knob affects it.

Bullshit. The FBW feels almost like an Arcade plane if you're used to the Fenix. The system depth is completely insane and multiple real world Airbus pilots praise it to heaven. I guess their opinion is more valid than yours. I bet you don't even own the Fenix.
@Henry-350
@Henry-350 11 ай бұрын
@@enfantterrible4868 I've heard the same. Top comment on /watch?v=x-j-JvXglDo&t "Well here is one 320 pilot not raving. For a sim hyped and marketed to be better than the best ie FSLabs lets just casually take a look at a few things. Has any CFM-56 powered jet ever achieved 1600Kg/hr in cruise? I mean its only an error of 50% but hey Fenix said it would be better than FSLabs. Have you ever in your career on the 320 flown an initial take off pitch angle of 19 degrees? Empty with Toga maybe.This thing flexes and climbs at 19 plus its rate of climb is way out of kilter. How about 15 degrees nose up on one engine? Try that in your next cyclic and let me know how that goes lol. Fenix inability to get the external flight model to work has left them with inaccurate power, drag, lift etc creating a 320 that flies nothing like any 320 i spent 10500 hours flying. Throw in an overhead panel thats circa 1998 and technically unable to fly an RNP AR because of drift rates and inability to fly RF yet somehow Fenix does. Remember I didn’t claim it was to be the most accurate A320 ever released. They also coukdnt get the fints correct. Throw in a performance calculator not using optimised runway data so the calculations are pure fiction for 2022. When a dev starts throwing out claims about how amazing there product will be and it ends up a hodge podge poorly performing mish mash of parts from 320’s from the last 25 years at what point do guys like you actually hold them to account? This not only doesn’t compete with the FSLabs it barely competes with the distant fiurth place Aerosoft offering. Fenix told us they would deliver the best 320 on the home pc market but its far from that its barely usable as a tool as its so inaccurate as to be unusable. Wrong pitch settings, wrong thrust values yet in the FSLabs i can use the QRH Unreliable Airspeed values for pitch and thrust and get results within 3% which is as good as a Thales full motion sim. Fenix failed to deliver what they said they would and there is years of work to fix the heavily broken Vnav, flight model, cockpit textures, systems but most of these will be unable to be fixed because Prosim is based on 20 plus year old A320 just look at the overhead. One day it might be an “accurate” A320 as they claimed but thats not today and not anytime soon."

You can only use it on one computer. the list goes on. i think people like you have become obsessed with it because its got nice textures!!
