Yeah i completely agree. I keep seeing negative reviews by people with 20 minutes time played and keep saying 'game needs polishing' i think people forget its in early access and doesn't plan to fully release for 1 year lol

A lot of steam reviews clearly commented before actually engaging with the extraction and metaprogression whatsoever. So many common complaints are eliminated after unlocking like, the first couple things and making a successful extraction or two.

Its pretty obvious that the negative reviews are bot reviews and/or review bombers based on the gameplay time of 20 minutes and the review saying they dont like the game because its exactly what the game is supposed to be. Like saying "I dont like Forza because it has cars" 🙄 If you like the studio and like where this is going, just leave a good review so others can give it a fair chance and not avoid it because of the false-negative reviews.

Thanks, this game starts off very brutal. It definitely needs to explain things a little more. It shows you the major parts but it leaves a lot details that make it even harder. Love the game though

I like the game so far, but it is severely lacking an effective first time player tutorial or introduction. There are screens in the settings menu where you can read about how things work, but they are still a little vague and uninuitive. I feel like a good way introduce players to the world and gameplay would be to make the initial mission all about resource gathering and extracting so you can unlock your med kit. That would teach players how to upgrade things, demonstrate the importance of strategizing to acquiring certain materials, and emphasize that sometimes you don't need to fight everything.

We need more videos like these, showing how the game is actually like. The danger with making a game that's not as handholdy is that idiots will get mad. I struggled real hard for the first few hours, i still do but i can notice i'm getting better and better. If they make the healing mechanic a bit less stingey then i thinnk i should be able to consistently clear the first boss!

The game is meant to be tough, so getting killed often is par for the course I mean it's a roguelike, of course it's gonna kick your ass. The reviews were very quick to slam the game as bad and poorly optimized, the real issue I see is just a lack of understanding and lack of explanation. I'm glad I ignored the negative reviews and tried it anyways, it's fantastic and the world and music fits perfectly coming from Hyper Light Drifter

@@thekleanupkrew8381 There’s too much variability between the player experience for people to discount (or blindly trust) any one player’s review. That’s really the problem right now. Someone with a crazy maxed out machine (and still not getting stable FPS, but above 60) is gonna say “I don’t see the problem”, while a player who meets the stated requirements but is still getting killed because they can’t even see the animations sometimes is going to say the game sucks. Likewise, I’ve seen WILD variability in things like enemy density and spawn rates. My initial run was just impossible. Impossible. A few meters to the left of the spawn location, towards the closest item on the map, you’d get hit with over a dozen enemies, and then another dozen in one wave, including ranged and flying guys. If you ran from them, you’d get run over by a snail. Regardless of what I’ve learned since, that fight just wasn’t doable with just a sword, especially as your very first combat encounter of the game, on a character that’s tooled for ranged weapon bonuses but won’t even have a ranged weapon at that point. It’s not just a matter of tutorials or such, that’s a very bad first impression. If I wasn’t such a big HLD fan, I could see how I would have said “screw this” and taken off, assuming that the game was going to be like that all the time. The next seed, I had very different enemy density and item locations, and now all of a sudden I only have to beat a group of 5 to get a gun. That’s a totally different experience from the one before. If you got that seed first and I got my first seed, we’d be butting heads arguing over a totally different experience of what the game is “really like”. The problem is, it’s both. I’m sure they’ll smooth that out over time, but right now, BOTH the positive and negative reviews are probably valid, because they’re essentially playing different games.

Stupid question but when it comes to unlocking other breakers do you just have to kill any boss and extract? Also I assume that you keep said unlocked breaker after a world reset? I've only had time to play for half an hour and was thoroughly confused lol
