As a single mom for my DIY projects around the house its great... Its my first drill and I used you tube videos to teach myself how to use the darn thing... I bought new TV for Christmas and I wanted to hang them up myself and be self sufficient... I bought this drill a stud finder, for my 55 inch for my room, and got to work... It worked greatly so I will give it a 5 out of 5 for a first timer like myself... And the only issue I had was the instructions didn't tell me how to use it... I had to find it online

Honeslty I bought one 5 years ago in FL when I worked as a tire tech. Came in handy for unscrewing skid plates and drilling out holes for patch plugs. Ended up getting the impact, drill and skill saw years later because I thought it did a good job for what I needed. They sell a $20 fast charger at Walmart for these batteries and it's worth it. Full charge in an hour. It's not a Dewalt but it works for what I need it to.

I have one that I have used for three years and still using the same battery, still holds a charge, not expected to have a half inch chuck. It is still going strong! I am very impressed by it! Never had a problem with it! It was a gift my 14 yo daughter gave me for my birthday. The only thing I think is useless is the light, since you need a light to see where you are working before you pull the trigger, but it won't light up until you pull the trigger. So much for the useless light. Otherwise, great tool!

I have this drill for light weight mdf and particle board assemblies at a low torque setting. It’s light so it’s easy to sink stuff in compared to a five pound dewalt I keep this one and a Ryobi impact on my belt at all time for light work for homeowners. I love them. I usually use this drill for lightweight stuff though. Works great for drywall anchors and mounting TVs. Best 25 bucks I ever spent

Most people would be okay with this drill. If you are a contractor or someone that's going to be using a drill daily, then this is not the drill for you. Most people who desire and or want a drill don't fall into this group. But for most people this drill will do what you need it to do. Why pay 100-200 dollars for a drill that's only going to be used a few times a year. Trust me, this drill is just fine.

I have both the 20v drill and impact driver by Hyper Tough. I have no problems with either, but I know their limits. I do projects around the house with pallet wood, I sink 2” screws all day with the drill, and larger than 2” with the impact. I also have the Ryobi drill and impact set on hand when I need additional torque. I use a drill holster when I’m working to keep my drills by my side and these drills are lite weight and easy to carry. You just have to realize that these HT drills/impacts ARE NOT professional construction grade, and when to use higher torque drills, if you do that then these drills work fine for what they’re made for:)

8:28 by fire proof, they mean that the battery is most likely to catch on fire without anyone near it while charging, so put it somewhere that if it does catch on fire, it won't burn your building down.

I love my Ryobi stuff. I’m still rocking the old school blue Ryobi tools. They’re good tools. I think the hyper tough and the warrior (from harbor freight) would be great light duty drills. Things you would buy to leave at grandma’s house for when you need to fix something there. Not the best but good enough to get you by.

grandma's house? any diy'er could get good use out of low cost tools such as this. i have several 'cheap' tools i bought because i do not use them every day but i do use them enough around my small shop to justify having them and they work fine. if i depended on tools for my livelihood then i would spend the extra money and buy quality but i would also have backups. cheaper tools like this are fine for their intended purposes but this video does not even attempt to cover that. instead he seems to purposely diss on walmart stuff like he has it out for them or something. if that is the case he should not shop there in the first place.

Bought a set for 50 bucks. Has this drill. 1/4" impact. Flashlight and reciprocating saw. Figure at 12.50 each cant hardly go wrong. I know the drill is fine for small jobs. The flashlight is actually really nice. And the saw I put through the paces this morning cutting limbs off some trees nothing more than two inches thick and it worked fine. But for small jobs around the house think the set will be fine. Havent used the impact driver yet. But to be honest if the set hadn't been on sale I never would have purchased. Thanks for the video.

it always amazes me how some on youtube, beat up on tools like this! of course it isn't a milwakee or a dewalt, but then again, it is quiet small, which is very useful in tight places. there is a time and a place for every tool, and having a smaller unit that can get into a tight spot to drill just one damned hole, or with nutdrivers get in under a fenderwell without having to dismantle half the car, might just make this tool worth the price of admission. then again i am an old guy, and have used extremely heavy tools, and been forced to use them in horribly tight quarters, and found them not able to fit, and be left with having to butcher a hole with a hammer and chisel, or use an end wrench 1/16th of a turn at a time, all the while getting burned by a hot manifold or somesuch. and lastly, a new guy, just starting out, could do well with starting with this sort of tool, to first find out if he really needs one in the first place, how often will he really use it, and then replace it later when it pukes with some tool truck mega dollar unit. just for fun... i bought a cheasy green plastic black and decker circular saw for 14.95 at kmart in '79 and it came with a 24 tooth carbide tipped blade, i bought it because i only needed to cut a few boards and really couldn't afford much more at the time... that damned saw with original blade lasted me through all sorts of projects, got it flaming hot more than once, for 23 years! it finally died when my roofer borrowed it to cut sheating on my 3 story house, and dropped it off the roof onto the sidewalk below. cheap pos! i can't imagine why it didn't continue working after a 35ft fall onto concrete! :) point being, there is a place for this sort of tool in my opinion. and for $24.88 plus tax (just bought one today) it is hard to fault the little bugger, other than i wish it had a higher speed for smaller bits. that i could have gotten with WM hyper tough 18volt version which is 2 speed and comes in at $18.88.

I picked a couple drills similar to this on clearance for $5 each a few months back. I've had no problems with the only one I've opened, using it in a number of projects both for drilling and fastening. It makes it so much handier to not have to switch bits in the same drill, but just reach for a different drill. Basically, it's a clone of another Black & Decker 20V Li-Ion drill I have. Works great! Btw, currently Walmart *stores* are clearing out a Hyper Tough 20V Li-Ion Jobsite Bluetooth Radio for $9 (down from $40, YMMV), and it's kinda cool. But sadly its 20V battery is a little different than the ones for my Hyper Tough drills. Might work in yours, dunno.

I bought 2 for light work as a paint0 contactor. But I used this drill today and used it to put some 3 6 inch lag screws in a deck and probably 30 3" deck screws. I was surprised how it sank the lag bolts through a 2x6 into a 4x4 and drove the head about an inch in. Great for small jobs but if you use them hard all day and keep them hot they will die a short lived death.

Try using your highest clutch setting in your drills instead of the drill setting. It gives the drill more driving force and it won't stall as much. The whole purpose of the clutch is to alow slipping so it makes a mild impact similar to an impact driver. Thats why its called a drill/driver. A traditional drill doesnt have a clutch.

Im guessing its fine for some smaller jobs. I mostly want one for drilling hole in car body panels etc... other brand drills are way too expensive if your not using it much

Great video, say I'm trying to convert this hyper tough battery on another drill and trying to find out if my old battery drill charger will work, old battery was a NI-CAD and new one is lithium. Question is i'm looking for the volts and amps on the ac adapter, thanks.

3/4 hole through to 2x4's no problem.Sorry pal this is an awesome drill that can handle MOST jobs for less than half of the price of those high end drills.Heck most people use 200 dollar drills to hang curtain rods.Get my point?

I have a hyper tough drill. I'm not a contractor, but so far it does everything I've asked of it. My battery charges in 15 minutes. You have a dud. I don't know how a fully charged battery lasts, because I'm not using it all day. I don't know if I would attempt to build a deck with it. If I do, I'll make sure I have extra batteries and a back up drill just in case. lol

I think listening to you review the drill, is likely more entertaining than the job I would be using the drill for. You had my girlfriend and I cracking up. I didn't wanna wait. It was the only drill Walmart sells. I needed to build shit. Shelves. Ikea like furniture. I'm certain that it will do the job. Now I wanna watch you review shit, I'd absolutely never buy, just to laugh my ass off at your commentary skills!! 🤣😂 🤜💥🤛 🇨🇦 Sudbury, Ontario, Canada✌️

They came out with an impact also appearantly. The bnd was the cheapest when i was looking for an inexpensive impact but theirs is like $40. Surprised the drill drove the bolt as far as it did, i thought it had zero chance of making it 1/4 of the way. I have upgraded to the gen4 ridgid combo though and love it. If you find the impact in stock you should review it. That'd be cool. Hell it might give your Ryobi a run for it's money 😂

G Martinez- the drill works fine for screws 2” or less. The impact does fine over 2”. I own both because they are lite weight and easy to carry all day. But, I know not to tackle those lag bolts like on the video lol, I have larger drills for those IF I ever need it

Loved the review.. I have a (not cheap) Makita driver and under your tests the drill looks fine, but under load, the batteries supplied are nothing but junk. Unless I desperately needed for some reason, I would never buy a battery tool ever again, the replacements cost more than the tool. I am surprised that where you are that batteries are not edible, we have them for breakfast everyday. I want to see some real work done in these reviews and then let's see how many recharge cycles you are getting with these batteries. Replacing them is just not worth the expense. (My Makita came with two supplied batteries, one died after less than 10 recharges, the other cracked, Makita do not provide any warranty in Thailand for their batteries, their excuse is high ambient temperatures and the way the locals treat the tools!) So if you want to pay over $150 to replace two batteries for a $120 tool....way to go! Maybe you should buy some left hand threaded screws as that driver takes them out better than it puts them in.

Honestly, I don’t use drills for much, so $25 is fine for me. Plus the batteries are cheap ($20 for a 2Ah) and a fast charge is $30 (1 hour). One thing I find absolutely hilarious is the 2.5Ah battery for $40 has a USB PORT for charging your phone. Obviously not for the trade stuff

I wish someone would do a walk through on this whole keyless chuck entry thing. I have a blister on my thumb from trying to get it to work, this is the fifth video about this drill I've watched and so far, nothing. I can't get my drill bit inside the stupid thing and it's a total waste of money if I can't use it except to give myself blisters.

i have a corded drill but its a little too much for some lighter jobs around the house, its 5.2 amp black n decker with a feather trigger, you have to be careful with it so you don't break things you're trying to fix, this drill seems to be perfect for those lighter jobs where over tightening.stripping screws wouldn't happen with the different torque settings on this drill,i don't want to spend much because it won't be used that often, still haven't decided to buy this one yet,but i don't think the cordless B&D is really any better quality, thats made in China as well, decisions decisions, lols
