My great grandfather was an Italian stone mason and he built a stone house for his family in Kentucky. He messed up a stone over the door for the balcony. Every time he went out he shook his fist at it and said son of a b stone. Decades later the family all does that as a tribute to him. I have fond memories of my tiny grandmother doing it. Screw ups and challenges can bring a family together long after you are gone.

Two ideas: 1) Instead of the pipes on the trolley, screw a caster roller onto the wood. Because the wheel turns, there should be no friction. If you use two (left/right), it would provide a better fit for the bucket and allow some height adjustment by adjusting the distance between the two wheels. 2) When adding one bag to the end of another, wrap the first bag in newspaper first. The second bag slides easier over the paper than a bag. When done, pull the newspaper out.

I have an idea for your dolly bucket system : attach a wire to one edge of the board on the dolly and thread it through the pvc pipe and attach the wire to the other edge of the board. This way the pipe will roll as the bag material comes off the bucket and hopefull prevent chaffing and tears to the bag material. I love watching you guys live your dream,

To solve the tearing problem, use PVC with rebar run through it. This will act as a roller while holding the bucket away from the dolly.

The PVC isn't what's causing the tearing. It's the wood.

Install two wedges between the bucket and the back board to give the offset you need.
@deano.75338 ай бұрын
I would try pushing the PVC through the center of the foam and mounting them together on the plywood. That should give you more strength and stability and also give you the softer surface area that you're looking for as well. In fact... If you stretch the foam over the PVC you could leave 4 or 5 inches of bare PVC sticking out on both sides of the foam so you can more easily attach the PVC to the plywood at both ends. Take care. sincerely, Dean O. :-I

Getting there! Question were you going have a concrete floor because the next couple of courses could act as forms because it would be the easiest time to get it done. Just on the house part and hold of on the patio court yard. Which the courtyard would be a good place too set up the mixing stations. Because you have opening too access it from both sides. Food for thought. Have a good week until next time, and God bless amen.
@TinyShinyHome8 ай бұрын
We wanted to, but concrete prices have skyrocketed. We'll have to figure it out later and focus on the walls for now.

How many layers do you think it will take to get to roof height?
@TinyShinyHome8 ай бұрын
About 30 splitting the difference between high and low sides.
@barrylitchfield83578 ай бұрын
When I watched your last video you posted of building a bridge to go over the bags as they go above ground level. It seems the top section between the two ramped ends was too short to span the trench. You decided to backfill the sides of the trench to support the bridge. It seems like modifying the bridge top section to span the existing trench would be more appropriate. I assume you're going to have to relocate the bridge a few times to access the entire house. What happens when the bridge has to go over higher and higher walls? Even longer and longer ramps will be required! I'll be tuned in to see how that will be accomplished. Thanks for your continued great videos and family dynamics. A great crop of kids y'all raised there.
@TinyShinyHome8 ай бұрын
We'll be building 3 ramps, and each will be permanently installed to go over a specific door frame that will get us access to various parts of the walls. The trenches will all be backfilled once we get above ground so no point in making the ramps bigger than they need to be. It was lots of planning, but I think it'll all be worked out in the next video :)
@barrylitchfield83578 ай бұрын
Okay then, I guess I missed that part of the video. Another consideration... Measure the width of your wheelbarrows! I was planning to use my wheelbarrow to go through a 36" gate opening. I ended up removing a fence panel to access my back yard with a 40" wide wheelbarrow! Barry
