I just stumbled onto this channel and having this format of hot laps first + drivers commentary at the end is the best comparison video I have seen. After this video, it all but confirmed just how good that car is.

I do enjoy well produced car videos like the kind made by EVO and Carfection (Top Gear is utter dribble...), and this is clearly very much unlike that. Million dollar question is the Carrera GT on some R-compounds faster than the 918 when it's batteries and e-boost are out after 3 laps?
@hypercarinvitational67314 жыл бұрын
ooooh, that is a good one and we honestly don't have the answer to that. but.. hypercar invitational 2 is coming soon and we will try to find out. 918 is easier to drive hard, the CGT.. not so much, takes more skill and more risk. so hard question to answer.
@netmatrix754 жыл бұрын
I would say it now. Nope. The CGT is not going to be faster than the 918 even with the best tires. Simple reasoning? Technology. CGT does not have all the tech aids and race tech that the 918 has. I am pretty sure the CGT is more like P1, where you need loads of effort to get it doing what you want it to.
@Illopp00ify4 жыл бұрын
@@netmatrix75 How does it not have race tech? Carbon Ceramic brakes and pushrod suspension. Also better power-weight ratio once the 918 batteries are done. So a DCT vs manual is the only difference. Without batteries power 918 is back to RWD.
