It's amazing that a GT500 car despite costing 2 million dollars less and has no hybrid system manages to almost lap at a identical time than a Le Mans Hypercar, just proves how much of a monster GT500 cars are on the track
@GabsARV4 ай бұрын
To be fair, LM cars have restrictions on how much power they can create. They can't dump all of their hybrid energy all at once, plus the BOP (Balance of Performance) comes into play too, which can either limit how much torque is allowed and/or use of ballasts. If LM cars didn't have those restrictions, they would leave the GT500 car in the dust. But in a way, you are kinda making a good point. Even without the hybrid systems, the GT500 car can easily surpass the LMP2s.
@NemisisDL4 ай бұрын
@@GabsARVCan? Or already surpass? The GT500 has been if not on par, faster than the LMP2s for a while now.
@stryker17974 ай бұрын
True, but you gotta take into account the fact that the new regulations which came with the category's name changing to LMH made the cars slower than they were under the former LMP regulations. Modern LMP1 Cars were significantly faster than current LMH1. The Porsche 919 even in its unmodified version wouldn't have given the GT500 Z much of a chance. Though with that said, you're right, it's definitely impressive how what is essentially a heavily modified production car can give a run for its money to a race-designed from scratch prototype. What's even more impressive is the GT500 seems to outperform the LMH into the corners, with a downforce that looks closer to that a formula car than an endurance one. Le Mans has a lot of straight line sections which were the portions where the LMH outpaced the GT500. I'm curious to see how much closer it'd have gotten on a more balanced track like Spa-Francorchamps.

I don't think it'll compete for the win because there's also fuel economy to consider, which has no effect on a single lap but huge over an endurance race. Then they introduced 2000's GT2 which was like early GT2 I suppose but turned into GTE when GT1 got scrapped. Towards the end of GTE they once again were as fast as late 00's GT1. Now they're replaced by GT3 which in their inception were slower than contemporary GT2 but now have probably become faster than the old GT2 cars. So what I'm saying is I'll expect hypercars to become faster and possibly break into two classes in the next few years. So like... that's why the 2023 Ferrari pole lap would be good enough for pole in 2012, 2nd in 2013 and even 5th in 2014, ahead of the Audis, right? Because it's so slow. They're really not that slow.
@F1ll1nTh3Blanks4 ай бұрын
No, they aren't. LMH cars are fully custom but have BOP, LMDh are spec chassis and have BOP. They're slower because they have performance limitations to keep costs down.

Goes to show you how slow the rules made the hypercars. They're too heavy and not enough power.

And also GT500 have loads of grip from their special tyre war spec compounds from Bridgestone, Yokohama and Dunlop whereas all WEC Hypercars use the same control spec Michelin tyres

Why do you only use the Ferrari? The Ferrari was NOT the quickest in qualifying; NOT the fastest in hyperpole. NOT the fastest lap during the race.

1: This game is very realistic and so are the top mods (which are always unofficial, that's why they are mods), we literally use real life data to make every video in this channel, I guarantee it's as close a representation you as can have. 2 Here's some real-life data, GT500s going over 300 km/h at Fuji (without DRS or push-to-pass) You are telling me they wouldn't be able to reach 305 km/h at a longer straight with a Le Mans setup? (lower downforce setup than Fuji obviously) www.motorsport.com/supergt/news/nissan-fuji-top-speed-analysis/10464454/#:~:text=The%20%2324%20Kondo%20Racing%20machine,in%20the%20FCY%20practice%20session. Is this more credible now? Here's Kubica going over 290 km/h in a DTM car by the way; kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXPFc6V4gduNb5Ysi=8SdakKS_qoVo6pXv

So none of these are fully acurate to the real cars.. they look the same as real but the physics vs real are no where close. Setups. weather track (scale) do it in real life and we will get real data. Sims are close but not accurate.

This gt500 mod is broken... it has it's own gravity field!! It has nothing to do with reality. It should be behind a LMP2 and not much faster than the Garage 56 nascar. Yet this is around 10s faster than it should per lap.
@geejustfishing9164 ай бұрын
You’re crazy thinking it would lap around the nascar time.

telling others you've never watched super gt without saying it. i mean how difficult is it to check the lap time of fuji speedway where both gt500 and wec prototypes run? or are u just being plain ignorant

I worked as a mechanic in Japan a few years ago with them, I'm sorry to say that this mod is false. The GT500s have less cornering than an LMP2... It is true that they are the fastest touring cars but the performance of this mod is totally false.
@AdamTheMan19934 ай бұрын
Actually last year at Fuji GT500 cars were lapping at almost identical lap times as the Le Mans Hypercars then again GT500 cars have a open tyre war between Bridgestone, Yokohama and Dunlop whereas WEC Hypercars use the same spec Michelin tyres
@THEWINDTUNNEL4 ай бұрын
First, that's very cool, for which team did you work? Second, I'm afraid you are wrong, currently GT500 cars are faster at the only track they share, Fuji, which has bit of everything. Just check last years laptimes from both series. The GT500 cars are even faster than the Hypercars (with the GT500s being faster at the bends while the Hypercars have better top speed, that's why it was faster here). A few years ago, they were closer but right now a GT500 car obliterates an LMP2 car everywhere.
