Thank you for making a video about this mostly unknown condition. I had this 3 years ago during my pregnancy and I’m still mentally plagued by it, it was the worst experience of my life to date. It also isn’t only in the first trimester, I had it for the whole 40 weeks.

@@elcuhh2861 I was lucky enough to be able to be hospitalised, all up 11 times. I was able to have access to IV fluids and medication.

I suffered this for the whole 9 months on all three pregnancies, 24/7 I couldn’t stand the smell or sight of food, and was hospitalised each time too. I lost a substantial amount of weight and weighed less at the end of pregnancy than at the beginning of each pregnancy.

@@elcuhh2861 it was sheer hell, but I love 💕 babies, I would have gone on to have six or more had it not been for this problem. It took its toll on my teeth though because now 40 years later they have all fallen out.

I've suffered this during my 1st pregnancy and also now with my second one. My mum had it, my sisters had it and what makes me mad is when u tell people this is what you are going through, they start comparing themselves saying oh yes i had the same whereas they dont. It clearly states here that it happens in 1-2% of pregnancies, then how can each and everyone have it. Why are people like that? Its a real suffering for all 40 weeks and you cannot even enjoy your pregnancy 😢

Same I have it too with both of my pragnancy. Need to go hospital several times for IV fluids. But people always say they have it. They just comparing it with morning sickness and think you are over reacting.

my daughter-in-law had this twice. We found a study using gabapentin on women with HG. she started the medication and it helped her a lot. I hope this helps someone else.

It is going to decrease after first trimester and if she does that only morning then it will end no worries, thats morning sickness, but if it continues after first timester and it happens anytime of the day then seek medical help

I suffered from this all 3 of my pregnancies the third one at age 30 wasn’t so bad as the ones in my 20’s but it’s still gruesome nevertheless I’m currently 16 weeks pregnant and threw up so many times in last 3 hours I lost count

I had severe HG with my last baby and it was terrible. It lasted up until I gave birth. 60+ pound weightless. I pray my daughter never get it when they have children.

Placenta releases inflammatory cytokines... Causes inflammation which leads to rise in liver enzyme..afaik

Why ketosis in hyperemesis?

Because of glucose deficit and fat coming into use. Also.. excessive vomitting causes ketosis
