how is clinging on to patriarchal norms such as hypergamy any beneficial to the aim to make men and women equal in rights and worth? yes, its not beneficial. teach women to become successful and independent on their own because they are able to do so, not find a rich CEO. Im Iranian as well but I don't understand how comparing a middle eastern culture to western culture is an explanation why hypergamy is beneficial. Iranian culture even up to this date is very patriarchal and many aspects are oppressive towards women. Please differentiate properly
