HYPERIA’s First Drop COMPLETE! | THORPE PARK Construction Vlog #64

In order to install the tallest point of Hyperia a huge crane had to be delivered to the construction site! That crane has now arrived and the first drop of Hyperia has been completed. Meaning Hyperia is now the tallest rollercoaster at Thorpe Park - beating Stealth. I discuss what the following few weeks have in store and what the process and timeline of Hyperia being completed will look like!

Saw the 1st drop this morning on my 7 hour journey home to Newcastle. I couldn't resist taking a 30min detour to show the lads just how big hyperia is going to be. Got so excited when I seen that the 1st drop had been installed. Definitely worth the detour. She's going to be one hell of a ride. Roll on opening day 😁🎢🎢🪽🪽

Mack has definitely given you a figurehead with that coaster. You can definitely dominate worldwide with this coaster. At least you're (finally) at the forefront here. Might not be the best and most thrilling coaster, but I would say top 5 worldwide without a doubt, when it comes to thrill! I just think the overall package with Voltron is definitely better. But you can't complain. I mean, we all knew one day you gonna get that kind of coaster. But who would have thought its gonna be Mack Rides who put you such a thrill maschine there? 😅 But a lot of things still need to improve in the park. The coaster is a first step and the restoration of some areas and attractions is also welcome. I'm pleased that the park is finally expanding a little further and is also catching up on the maintenance of the park. I might come back to TP in a couple of years. Greetings from Germany.

I believe im correct in saying this is the tallest beyond vertical drop in the world. (you're beyond 90 degrees before twisting)

On Monday I met Ben and Skye from Ride Comparisons down monks walk we did see them big crane come in and noticed the crane by the splash down area

WOW this is insane looking! I’m used to shoulder restraints so looking at this I’m imagining being thrown over the lift hill (back row rider all the way) and having all my weight in the shoulder supports, I can’t even imagine what it will feel like with a lap bar only and it’s so much bigger than anything I’ve ever ridden, having never been on the big one at Blackpool yet, stealth is probably my tallest coaster so far? Will we even be able to sit upright or will we be pushed back into the seats by the g-force and lap bar pushing us back? I really hope they’ve not made the restraints for short people only because colossus is the MOST uncomfortable rollercoaster to ride, the leg space isn’t big enough to get your knees low enough to get the restraints down fully. That’s my only concern about hyperia. I want it to be comfortable and feel supported so i can enjoy the track.

I’m going tomorrow to have a look but the wind gusts are around 20-25mph, do you think that’s too much up at the top. I’ve been down Monks Walk 3 times so far (4 tomorrow) since the first support went in and I haven’t seen any track or even supports go up, I’ve seen supports being taken down (1st dec) but that’s it…

I don’t know the angle but it is definitely slightly beyond vertical. If you look at the plans you can see this also.

It’s a strange one to think about as it is technically beyond vertical for the start of the 180 degree twist but half way down once you’ve rotated beyond 90 degrees it won’t be beyond vertical. All I really know is it will be an epic feeling going down that drop.
