Very good demonstration Swapnil! As requested in a comment below, I would like to see the same analysis within RADIOSS. In addition, please try an impact problem with a composite structure. Should you need any assistance with the initial setup, please send a message. Thank you for your effort.

Thanks Emmanuel! I am indeed planning a video about impact analysis on composite structure. I used a Radioss SPH case study to set up this analysis using LS Dyna. So it won't take much time to redo this in Radioss. Will start working on it soon 👍🏻

Merry Christmas Swap! Always great work my friend. Could you show us how to solve this in Radioss environment?
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Merry Christmas to you too Ken! Where have you been? Didn't see your inputs on some of my latest videos. I will recreate this same analysis in Radioss. Thanks for the suggestion. I am also working on the submodeling video we discussed before. A good friend of mine is helping me with that tutorial. Hopefully, it will be done soon 👍🏻

Good afternoon! Thank you very much for your help, all your advice helped me. I'm sure you can help me a little more and answer my question..How can LS - DYNA simulate, for example, a box on a pallet to determine whether it will cause deformation of the pallet and destruction due to high mass..?
@Aeroswap2 жыл бұрын
Hey! Good to know you liked the video. From your description of the problem, I am assuming you want to place one component on top of another and apply gravity load. Then measure the deformation cause due to weight acting on the lower component, right? If yes, this is definitely possible. However, this is not a explicit dynamic case. A simple linear/nonlinear static analysis would be sufficient so I would suggest using Optistruct instead of LS Dyna.
@vladimirlubimov23182 жыл бұрын
@@Aeroswap Thanks a lot for the answer. You got it right. Logically, it will look like two bodies (one on the other) and one of the bodies will exert a static load on the second body in units of force (for example, Newton). Or on the body, select the elements to which a simple upload will be attached, without a second body, and see the result?
@Aeroswap2 жыл бұрын
Here is what I would do- 1. Create two separate bodies close to each other (such that one is placed on top of other) and assign material and property to both 2. Define a frictional/nonfrictional contact between them with additional contact settings that might be required 3. Use the GRAV card in Opustruct to define direction of gravity load 4. Create SPCs at required locations and run a nonlinear static analysis 5. Not only will you get the deformation due to weight (gravity) but also the contact forces at the interface! I hope this helps!

Hello! Please tell me such a moment, I work with MAT 83 in DYNA (modeling of foams), the properties depend on the deformation rate and I load a table with various curves and corresponding deformation rates. Our machine allows to obtain experimentally the maximum compression speed up to 1000 mm/min (16.7 mm/c). Question 1: In the Define Table, should I specify the units in which I work (mm/s)? Question 2: If in the simplest test of a ball falling from a height of 1 meter, the speed is 4500 mm/s, then how will the program take into account the curve for such a speed if the maximum speed at which we can get an experimental curve is 16.7 mm/s. It is unrealistic to obtain stress-compression curves at such high speeds experimentally. So we won't get accurate results at such speeds? Thank you!

It was such an informative one, but if we use jet engine Instead of the wing. The procedure is the same.?
@Aeroswap2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, the procedure to define SPH particles will be the same. The only difference will be the geometry of the components.

Sir, if we use jet engine assembly how do we make the blades rotate? Does it have options to give desired rpm to the blades?
@Aeroswap2 жыл бұрын
In that case, you can give rotational velocity to the blades. The setup is almost similar to initial velocity.

Hello Swapnil! Can you name any good LS DYNA solver which I can use for free for running my models? Thanks
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
LS Dyna is the solver. You can get the free version of LS Dyna in Ansys student version package.

Export the solver deck. The file will automatically be saved as a K/key file. K and KEY file are similar. Both are LS Dyna input files and store same information regarding the run.

The wing geometry used in this tutorial does not belong to any specific aircraft. I performed this same analysis on many NACA 4-digit airfoils with variaition in wing dimensions. This is one of the iterations.
