Part III is the last video of the NIH Criteria for who gets surgery for primary hyperparathyroidism -- Nobody uses the NIH criteria any more. Dr. Politz from the Norman Parathyroid Center, talks at an endocrinology conference. Most people with parathyroid tumors
are outside some of these guidelines, and how endocrinologists can be proactive with this disease.
Part III of this series focuses on the data from 10,000 patients in four areas: renal function, bone density, localizing tests and long term affects of hyperparathyroidism.

Thanks to this series of videos, and the website, I am now headed to surgery at a clinic that performs the mini-surgery. I have spent literally years being miserable and bitching about it, being given anti-depressants, developing high blood pressure, told I had gall bladder problems, told I had "musculo-skeletal" issues, told I should see an orthopedic surgeon, had a toe amputated because it was broken and wouldn't heal..... When I kept saying this wasn't right, that something was causing this, my cardiologist said "everyone dies from something". But NO ONE checked my PTH. I finally went to an endocrinologist who, after finding PTH levels above 140, told me to take more Vitamin D, because I live in Idaho and probably wasn't getting enough sunlight. Of course, this didn't "cure" my condition. I finally found these videos and am now scheduling surgery at a clinic that seems to know what to do. Bless you. Really.

I was diagnosed with HPT after a finding of 10.9 blood calcium, Vitamin D at 12.94 and PTH at 352.7 -- And yes, you read that correctly! I was diagnosed in February and my surgery is scheduled for May. I credit my doctor, who at my first visit, LISTENED to all my symptoms and within 5 minutes suggested I see an endocrinologist to be evaluated for PTH. Thank you for these videos. I've done my research and feel very informed about my tumor, and that is due mainly to your informative videos. THANK YOU!!!

I have had all these conditions/symptoms for the better part of 20 years. I have had to have bypass surgery, hernia surgeries failed because of the bypass incisions, have osteoporosis , brain fog, aches and pains, bone pain. I am just now becoming a patient and would not even know this with out my doctor doing the tests I asked for. Thank You for informing the public and associates that this is out there and there is a cure.

I am a 37 year old male with a Blood Calcium of 11.3, PTH of 96 and a Ionized Calcium of 6. I am headed for surgery! Thanks for the great info!

10.7 Calcium, PTH 89.5, Diagnosed with Bipolar 1 at age 49... Had to beg my PCP to test PTH. Finally seeing an Endocrinologist in two days. Praying he is not behind the times!
