Hi, I am allergic to chlorhexidine, and had anaphylactic shock during operation. However, i still get reaction such as hives on daily basis and rhinitis even without engaging with chlorhexidine at all. I know now that it contra indicated with ibuprofen. I took ibuprofen one day and the reaction was really bad. However, i wasnt exposed to chlorhex at all at the same time. Why? Thanks

Here's an interesting case study, my Mother became allergic to Penicillin when she became pregnant the first time (1958), My older sister became allergic after her first pregnancy, my brother was born allergic, I became allergic after my first pregnancy, my younger sister was born allergic to Penicillin. I can react by just being close to someone who is on it, and can pick it up from the counter at the pharmacy. When I react the hives don't go away, I have to have steroids or it goes into angioedema then into shock. I am also allergic to Benadryl (gives me hives which then go into angioedema and then shock). Now I am also allergic to some food colorings (give me migraines) and if I even mow the lawn I am throwing up in the am and suffer with headaches and clogged sinuses. As to my children and my siblings children the allergy has continued into the third generation. My twins were both born with peanut allergy (no hives, goes strait to angioedema). As of yet they are not allergic to Penicillin buy one may be. What do you think?
