I have a question. Why does the cell shrink in the hypertonic and burst in the hypotonic? I think the solutes move from higher concentration to lower concentration.

Due to osmosis.Osmosis is a passive transport process during which water moves from areas where solutes are less concentrated to areas where they are more concentrated.
