The cues in this video have opened a whole new world of opportunity to bring pain to my legs. I can barely walk today. I am a 45 year old man trying to overcome my body being ruined from sitting at a computer terminal for 20+ years. I'm so fucking happy, I am not sure if my tears are from the pain of trying to walk or from finally achieving the dream goal of growing my legs back to my pre-career level. Gluing my pelvis to the back of the pad and bracing my lower core has allowed me to engage my quads in a new way. There are three distinct muscles in your quads and if you have any hip or pelvic issues, such as lower-cross syndrome, you are not actively working the full range of muscles. This video has helped me find a path to overcoming my skeletal-muscular issues. When your brain processes a trainer's sage advice and can put the cues into action... they can change a man's life.

Lovely content as per usual. I see you've added some extra pads to the pads of the hacksquat for added range, I presume. I've usually opted for adding the extra depth through adding plates to the plateau I'm standing on, which, quite honestly, isn't an optimal solution. So here's an idea for a future video: "Tips and tricks to accommodate your shitty equipment". A video (series?) wherein you delve a little into certain tips and tricks that can help turn shitty equipment (and thereby shitty exercise, so to speak) into top-tier equipment (I expect royalties and a shout out). Keep trucking, love to see the growth of the channel. Makes me genuinely happy! Also: enjoyed your podcast with John Jewett quite a lot, and really think you should do more of that :)

I have only done front squats with this machine and I love them. With knee wraps I can actually do them. I am 4.5 months post double torn meniscus and I did not do the surgery..went with physical therapy , to my own strengthening program, and now I’m incorporating weights. I can’t do leg raise machines and can only do leg raises with bands if my legs are locked out. I’m really nervous to use this machine for a hack squat and until your video I was going to put my feet up high. I’m actually on my way to go try this workout for the first time ever today. It looks safer than a leg press for knees. I’m going to try to do as much range as possible but not Sure I’ll be able to start with it. May have to work my way into it as I get stronger. Any thoughts?

Keeping your feet low on the platform will restrict how deep you can squat however you will be targeting your quads to the max because keeping your feet low on the platform will ensure your knees going way over your toes, activating the quads maximally.

hi, could you please make a video about how to perform this exercise facing the pad for the quadriceps, there is a hack machine that has pads that allow you to work in that way, but I have a shoulder injury that prevents me from using my arms to hold the side handles, so I can only use my shoulders to push upwards causing me a lot of distress on my trapezius and shoulders, I can´t do back squats, front squats either, that is why I have been trying to work my quads in this fashion. I´m 63 and I´ve lifting weights for 41 years, and I feel that if I Don´t do some kind of squats I Would eventually lose a lot of muscle,any advice?. thank you in advance

Why do they make this machine at a 45 deg angle ? I mean the load is nearly divided by half and u need more plates. Why not make it 60 deg, 75 deg or even 90 deg ?
@ThePepsiman1000
@ThePepsiman1000 3 жыл бұрын
I hope someone can give you a better answer, but I think it’s at a 45 degree angle so you can lay on the sled pad for more torso stability, and how the load is supported on the rails. I’m assuming if it was completely 90 degrees you would have all the load on the shoulders and it would increase the demand on the spine. If I remember correctly, i believe another coach claimed different angles affected how smooth the sled moves.
