They fixed a lot on this vs the wired version. The mic sounds better, side tone actually works, EQ works and the mic mute button doesn’t make a loud pop when you click it. I returned the wired version because of these issues so I think I’ll give the wireless version a shot.

For the mic, put the default format to 32000 Hz in the Microphone Properties > Advanced tab (In Windows Control Panel, under System > Sound). Something I noticed with the Cloud 3 Wireless, is the mic doesn't pick up any sound leakage from the headset. I've had this problem with the Cloud Alphas and Cloud 2 (wired) and it's been quite annoying as someone who speaks in voice chat a lot and has relatively high volume on. The Cloud 3's from my testing, doesn't pick up any sound, even like super loud music doesn't get through to the mic. Super impressed so far with that alone.

Man your content is really good. Keep it up. The graphs, measuring with different pads, the eq's for games, real value videos. It just amazes me how much of a surprise every unboxing and testing still is even though I at this point know well what frequency regions I dislike and what kind of curve is what my best sounding (to me) gear have. The freq response on the cloud iii wireless looked so damn good, and you mentioning the sidetone is great also got me really excited, exactly what I want from a headset. But upon getting them, putting them on and listening to music and gaming I was just immediately disappointed by the overall sound and timbre. Shouty, no air, bass okay, small soundstage, congested feeling. Fine ingame, but not worth the price imo. My Cloud Core Wireless sounds better to me. On wireless headsets I would love to see audio latency measurements. I love playing rythm games like Osu! and audio latency is very noticable

These are not under $200 at least not here where I live (Sweden). They go around $230 which is insane price point

Not sure if the wired ones I picked up (and returned) a month ago were just a bad set but the sound was flatter then a board. The mic was great and so was the overall feel of it on my head so I was sad to return them. Picked up a set of razer barracuda Xs tho (partial thanks to your big barracuda reviews video!) And I'm loving them.

Great review. Between Cloud III wireless vs Cloud III wired, are the mic quality and sound quality about the same or different?

I've heard a lot of negative opinions about the sound in these headphones. What do you think is the reason for this?

The USB C dongle does not fit the front port in ps5, it must be connected via USB A.

Is it worth choosing this over the Cloud Alpha Wireless? Even if it is the top model, it is still showing its age.

I sent them back only because i needed a 3.5 jack when I use my audio interface. Kinda sad. With EQ's, they sounded great!

This or the blackshark v2 pro 2023? For sound and connection strength
@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
Both are solid. Blackshark has more bass and treble. So if you want really strong/punch bass with more sparkly highs, go with Razer. If you want something a little more neutral sounding (and sounds good for music), the HyperX is a better pick. Assuming you are okay with losing bluetooth on hyperX of course.

@@GadgetryTech yeah I don’t really use BT I mainly play competitive games

@@GadgetryTech what about using eq? Is the hyperx able to get the same bass and highs as blackshark? I am now using a xbox stereo headset (on pc) but its very muddy, so i have extreme eq trying to cut all the muddy bass and get a more defined sound, i cant decide to go with hyperx razer or stealth pro.

Question for anyone who owns these: I saw a review online saying that the mic will functionally disable itself after a period of not speaking, and that it seems to reactivate based on you speaking again, thus completely missing the first 2 or so seconds of what you say anytime you speak again for the first time. I had this exact problem (among a litany of others) with the Audeze Maxwell, and that made it completely unusable for me, or anyone who actually wants to use it as a headset. I need to use my headset for work as well as for gaming (same PC for both), so that problem is a complete and total dealbreaker for me. Can anyone confirm if they experience this issue as well? I am hoping that the guy who left that review just had a faulty pair, because otherwise these seem to check all the boxes for me. Thanks in advance!

Could you please give us an update on the Audeze Maxwell, and if the software has improved

As a Maxwell user, Software has been updated but I can’t really notice improvements on the iPhone app. Pc app was good enough.

Great video! Does anybody know if the cloud 3 wireless has a hissing/white noise while the headset is on? Bought cloud 2 wireless a few years back and had to return it because it was a hissing sound while it was on ,read it was a wide spread issue ,probably because of the transmitter.

amazing review, but i wonder how these are for movies watchin and music listening, i dont game much, only most popular games, no multiplayers ones, so i need overall headphones with great battery life, this fits all the boxes for me, will they be good for immersive movies watching?
@jacobbarfield78282 ай бұрын
Hey, Joe. Even now a year after this video dropped, would you say that the Cloud 3 wireless is the most well-rounded wireless headset under $200USD? For things like comfort, build-quality, out-of-the-box sound quality and mic quality, battery life, etc. Just basically good at everything and bad at nothing. Or would a different headset beat it in this department now?

Good review Joe. I'd say people who went for the wired version are pissed right now. Do you prefer them over the G Pro X 2 or are they very similar sound wise?
@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
It's not the end of the world though because the wired one is so much less money and is still great overall. This one is better, yes, but you're paying the extra $60 for it.
@GadgetryTech Жыл бұрын
G Pro X is better if you want o EQ it for Playstation, because they finally added that feature. The HyperX Cloud 3 is better if you just want plug and play without dealing with tweaks
