The combined level of anger, power, harshness and aggressiveness plus beauty (achieved by it's melodies) makes this album so unique. It was my first Hypocrisy album and always wished Peter would write more albums in this Catch22 style.

Funny how the most beautiful moment on the album is a narrow 30 seconds in the middle of the song called "Hatred." Catch-22 is easily the best record they ever recorded.

As my friend labelled this album back in the days as: Black Rock (or in swedish: Svart Rock). At that time this was the most extreme band I have ever listened to. Hatred and Edge Of Madness are pretty much forged into my mind at this point.

hoping for the next round of Hypocrisy reissues to happen this year. I saw this album was included on the table (but never discussed) in a Hypocrisy youtuber video where Lars and Peter (sans Michael) discussed their thoughts on the second round of Hypocrisy CD/LP reissues.

This album is a genius and shows the desire of the band to explore other sonic planes. I remember at the time when it came out and it was harshly criticized by some "specialists" who said that this particular album sounded like Slipknot WTF the comparison is ridiculous. Hypocrisy it's on another level.

Ahora él algoritmo me ha recomendado este trabajo. Bueno, curiosamente me está gustando... es diferente.... más llevadero que otros discos de Hipocresía... es agradable y fácil de escuchar... crec que aquest disco está bastante bien... tiene unas críticas muy negativas en otras páginas web como el famoso metal archivos, pero no creo que merezca esas críticas tan despiadadas. No suena a Hipocresía pero para mi no está nada mal

My least favourite Hypo album by a long way, I remember being pretty disappointed with it when it came out. Even the remix didn't save it. Its just too "nu" for me. Good tour for it with Immortal though! Saw them in LA2 on that tour.
