Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS): Hudson’s Story

Brittney, Hudson’s mom remembers when the nurse came in and told her and her husband James, they were having twins. She also remembers getting the call that the medical team found something on a scan that didn’t look quite right. One of the twins, Hudson, had Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
Hudson has had surgeries and countless doctor’s visits, but he’s a fighter! If you looked at Hudson and Hunter today it would be hard to see everything the little guy has been through. It was fun sharing his story at the 2022 Wichita Heart Ball.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant, My baby was diagnosed with HLHS and kidneys problem 5 weeks ago. They told me that his prognosis is poor and that he's not going to live even if I delivered him by the 9th month. I can't stop crying ever since. I just can't imagine how hard it is gonna be to come back home without him or to get to know him for a few days or hours and then he gets taken away from me 💔

I’m so sorry plz stay strong me and my partner just found out ours might have HLHS our world sank yesterday praying Mondays scan with specialist is clear as his angle wasn’t great so wants a second opinion 🙏

My daughter in law is carrying my grandson that has been diagnosed with HLHS. Im praying the hardest i can for my first grandchild 😢

My daughter was just told yesterday that her baby that is due Oct 22 has HLHS. They’re faced with the three choices. I’m interested in hearing from people who have had to make this choice. I’d like to know what you chose and why. Also very interested in hearing from people that are living with it.

What an amazing boy.❤ True fighter. How is he doing now? My daughter has the same, she is soon 6 years old.
