I've been watching your lessons for quite a long time now and I started with your derivative lectures when I was in 10th grade. Because of you, I was able to learn those. And now I'm back at it, learning statistics from you this time and I have to say that you never failed to impress me! I understand it now and it's all because of you, sir! God bless you!

As a statistics instructor, I think that it should be noted that this video promotes a situation that should be corrected.... notice the note from a math textbook... you NEVER "accept" the null, you either reject, or fail to reject ... not sure how the "real world" feels about using "accept" but in a college math class, saying "accept null" gets marked as incorrect... "You should note that you cannot accept the null hypothesis, we can only reject the null or fail to reject it. A statistically significant result cannot prove that a research hypothesis is correct (as this implies 100% certainty)."

Man, these videos are amazing! I looked down the comments and almost everyone, like 99% of people (just being facetious, don't actually do the math:) are thanking you for saving them. Well, I'm doing the same, because you saved my ass. I'm taking a sociological stats class, and I asked the instructor if it would help me any to look on KZbin for some help. She told me "No, they may not teach it the same way I do, and it'll probably just confuse you more." I think she's just intimidated by the fact that you've taught me more in 30 min (Z-scores and this one) than she was able to do in the last 3 weeks! (Maybe for job security or something). IDK how you do it, but you're great at what you do! It is 2:30 in the am, and I finally figured out how to do this. Thanks a ton. I may actually be able to get some sleep tonight! If you ever come to Indy and teach at IUPUI, I'll be sure to take you're class! Thanks again. -B

it is much easier to follow your videos than trying to understand my professor's note ... I'm struggling with my homework and this is definitely saving me ... I'm definitely a face 2 face student and not an online learner. Thanks.

This is my 1st time taking stats for college and let me tell you...YOU ARE A LIFE SAVER!!!! My class is asynchronous but my teacher leaves short vids on whatever topic we are doing but I have found them to not be as informative. Your videos actually break it down to the simplest terms that I can understand. I have a stats exam next week and I feel much better on actually taking it and maybe passing this time. Thank you so much!!!

i thought you can't "accept" the null, only fail to reject
@ugururesin84056 жыл бұрын
@Manuel Sojan, you're right sir. It can't be said that "the null is accepted". Only it can be said that "there is no evidence to reject null hypothesis" or "rejection of null hypothesis is failed". Believe me, even some PhD. level statisticians do this mistake!
@orxannagiyev15 жыл бұрын
Literally it's not correct but "accepting" H° doesn't mean it's true.

actually, since the null and alternative hypotheses are opposites of each other, the null hypothesis HAS to be written in this particular problem as greater than or equal to. this is to range over all possible outcomes.
