I'm coming home again in a month and I hope to buy another accent and have it done the same way. I'm not so certain they will bring the diesel back in the Accent or the Reina. As far as I know, no maker has a diesel economy car in the Philippines and that seems like it was planned. I liked the stock Accent diesel, it was the first car I rode in in the Philippines that I felt a real sensation of acceleration. Tuning makes it better. They are relatively affordable, power to price ratio, so it's sad they stopped making them.

kinda sad that majority of the manual cars are for low end cars nowadays. Luckily I was able to grab the last gen diesel innova (2nd to the top of the line, G variant) with a manual tranny. Got it remapped by speedlab and runs awesome 😎👍

Sir how much did it cost you for the full borla exhaust and ecu remap? I have the same unit but with a gasoline engine. Thanks in advance sir.

@@Thorrific01 It was Php 55,000. It was worth it to me. I don't think the gains would have been as much with the gasoline engine because no turbo. I also didn't change the intake side of my car so it remains quiet and fuel mileage remains like stock. For gasoline car, I would probably do an intake and K&N filter because you have no turbo and 1.4L vs 1.6L. To be honest, I wouldn't do the gasoline engine car. I don't think there would be enough gain. I would swap to a diesel car if possible, but I know it's not always possible and you have to work with what you have.

A turbo diesel variant was released in some countries (India, Turkey, Philippines... dunno the rest of the countries) This dude's Accent GDI got 200 hp on wheels. not sure if it's a bolt on turbo kit or taken from a veloster turbo. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a3jWmXmfnsh5prc
