They haven't changed the gear shift animation for years which is very slow and most time one hand is only on steering wheel which is so annoying

except in this game, it does it very poorly, as if it's a CVT. No 'gear shift' sound.

@@dannnsss8034 That would be an understatement. I know the paddle shifts are missing, but for now, the least they got is the sound. Also, the way it behaves is a 1-speed Transmission, like the Koeningsegg Regera for example, not CVT. Because CVTs rev high continuously when the car is moving. While 1-speed gearbox only revs high when the car reaches in a higher speed.

How the f*ck are they modeling these interiors? Each nook and cranny is so insanely accurate. I think what blows my mind even more is seeing a "flaw" (which isn't even a fair descriptor) at 4:50, noticing that the texture mapping for the stitching is actually a floating layer above the wheel's leather rim. But... ...that's even more f*cking insane to me. I somewhat thought that the process for these cars was largely down to some kind of really accurate scanning processes. But after seeing that, you realize how much detail must be hand-crafted and added on with intention. Like that whole stitching layer. What the f*ck are these guys on to be able to pull these off...

The floating stitching is not an error but a compromise modelers have to make to avoid Z-fighting Z-fighting is when the 3D cannot decide which mesh should be above, so it looks like something like white noise on TV If you make the mesh float above the other mesh you can avoid Z-fighting Some stickers also float on liveries due to them being actually 3D planes instead of just textures on the body mesh of the car It's not exclusive to Gran Turismo this has been a thing since ages and in general present in every (racing) game

​@thenuvolari9834 I've seen it in several games; my point was that I thought these interiors were largely handled by whatever scanning processes they used, with some help to manually clean them up and check for errors, and to apply things like textures. I didn't realize they were manually applying meshes like said stitching.

@@oppos727 Yeah, this "scanning" is only to get things like proportions and sizing right; they may also sample paint for accurate paint materials. The entire model for all cars in every game needs to basically be entirely hand-made.
